You don't understand where the burden of proof lies, do you?

If you're going to claim that things were different in the past - that the natural physical constants of the universe had different properties - then you need to back up that claim. Multiple variable speed of light hypothesis have been proposed since 1907, but none of them provide a better explanation of the evidence and none have withstood testing.

All the available evidence points to the natural physical constants being either fixed or subject to incredibly slow amounts of change. For example, a 2012 study - reacting to a 2010 paper that proposed shifting fundamental constants - showed that over the last 7 billion years, the ratio of the mass of the proton to the electron changed by 0.000001%. Studies in 2002 and 2004 showed that rates of radioactive decay have exhibited no change over the past 370,000 years. Another study that the fine structure contstant has exhibited only a change in 1 part per 100 billion over that past 12.6 billion years.

Given that the universe is ~13.74 billion, then we can reasonably assert the fundamental constants are exactly that, constant, for any period of time that is important to us.

A scientist observes a bunch of stuff one day and writes it down. Everything he observed is consistent with what is established in science.

Then next week the scientist observes a bunch of stuff that contradicts what he observed last week. Nothing he observes is consistent with what's known in science. No matter how many times he observes the stuff, its contradictory every time.

Now, how does the scientist determine which of these is correct:

- the laws of science have changed
- the previous observations were flawed, and he was not observing the actual laws of science correctly, but the laws of science have not changed.
