I think it would be VERY hard to be married to someone in that situation. I think the only way it is TRULY possible is to have HOPE for the marriage. Without hope, you will go no where.
If this is your situation, I'm very sorry. I'm sure it would be extremely heart-wrenching to be with an unfaithful spouse. Pray a lot and remember God always gives grace when we need it.

A cuckolded wife? The stereotypical marriage of the 40's and 50's where the man would keep a mistress and have affairs or have a regular prostitute? I suppose sthis happenned, but since that was "normal' for much of the secular world, I don't think the cuckold term was applied to the wife.

Personally I think fornication and adultery are a tough mix in a Christian mariage folder, but as far as terms go, such can be discussed.

"condones" is a funny word. "Fully condones" is even funnier. Matthew 19 only says that divorcing for reasons other than adutlery causes some of the parties to be adulterers in certain other situations. So, for one thing, it does not "advocate" divorce for adultery. For another, you would have to judge what Jesus was getting at. Was he supporting what Moses had given the people? Was he expressing old or new limits (or transforming) the view of the union?

I don't think Jesus would think it was wrong for a righteous, faithful man to stay in a marriage with an adulterous woman. You're reading way too into it. It says in the Bible plain as DAY, that divorce is a viable option when it comes to infidelity. I admit I may have made it sound a little too enthusiastic about divorcing, that's not what I intended.

I don't think God instructed him to get a real harlot, I think it was symbolic of marrying a woman from a city of whoredom.

Why do you say that? The story has tons of details and relates several years of experiences. All made up, as symbolic?
