I cross stitch....I don't do it all the time because sometimes I get "burned out" by doing it a lot. I have lots of pattern books and I have 3 or 4 projects that I'm supposed to be working on that seem like that they will never be done!!!!

Most of my cross stitching winds up being gifts for people. Right now, I am supposed to be finishing up my step-grandaughter's birth record cross stitch.

One of my favorite things to cross-stitch is wedding samplers. I sometimes wonder what happened to several of them that I gave as gifts where the couple is no longer married.

I wish I could get them back after all the work I put into them, especially since it's so much harder for me to cross-stitch now that my eyes are so bad. If I had them back, I could take out the names and maybe make them over into something different. Oh, well. :sigh:

that must be really frustrating when that's happend.

I've never done a wedding sampler but my cousin has done one for both of my brothers and my sister. I've been married for 2 years nearly and am waiting for mine - i know it'll be really special

Hello Cross-stitchers! I need to ask for help from someone on here. I'm halfway through a Bible study with a WONDERFUL group of ladies, and I'd like a gift to present to each of them at the end of our study (we have 5 more weeks). There are only 6 women, and I'm wanting to cross-stitch a sampler of the verse in John chapter 1 that says

"The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (chapter 1, verse 14)

I can't find it in any books or on websites, and I don't know how to chart it myself. Do any of you have it in any books? I know this is a huge favor, but if someone is good at charting things like this, I would be willing to pay for it!

Thanks to anyone who can give me any tips!

Hey Manna

are you just wanting to do the words or do you want a little picture to go with it too?

Cool!
I like cross-stitch too! All my friends tell me I am the last person they would think would do it, but it's relaxing for me. Plus I can do it at work when things are slow!
Right now I'm working on two different ones, a small panda and a large kimono picture. I like doing ones with lots of colour!
My biggest problem is starting and never finishing. But I have actually finished quite a few, I promise! :p
