  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Where did everybody go? I'm just starting a new project and everybody leaves. j/k

Sorry--had a very busy weekend and still didn't get everything done. I did manage to eke out a bit of time to work on a lacy scarf done in baby sport yarn. Only have about 3 rows left on it. It is in the crochet Scarves on the Go book from Vogue Knitting. Nice book, but when I substitute yarns I have a tough time getting the gauge right. This scarf was written in fingering weight on an E so I figured the baby sport on a small hook would work. WRONG!! Wound up using an H to get the right size.

Today I have to put the rest of my livingroom back together--we bought some new (to us) furniture and had to move all my stuff from my corner. Now I have no place to put most of it because the furniture takes up more space than before :( .

Lol. We rearranged my siblings and my rooms. So I spent my weekend doing some similar things.

I'm starting a vest for mom. I'm hoping to get it done before her birthday. That way I can have her a preasent as well as show m work off.

I knew there was a reason I don't like following patterns. I have a tendency to change patterns to do what I want. (not always easy, but oh well)

Another list I am on was having a discussion about changing patterns (this was last year sometime). Anyway I posted about an afghan I was making using a pattern by Melissa Leapman, but I changed the color, the yarn weight, the hook size and added extra rows of singles on the ends instead of fringe. Melissa is on the list from time to time and she got a kick out of reading how I had adapted her pattern for my needs, but still called it hers.

Speaking of Ms. Leapman--I just got her Cool Crochet book yesterday and my daughter has picked out at least 3 things she wants me to make for her.

Cool. My sister has me making like 12 thousand purses she wants me to make for her. I doubt I'll get to make them all for her, but what the hey.

12 thousand??

Does your sister have lots of friends or an Imelda Marcos-like obsession with purses? ;)

When will I learn NOT to let the kids into the crochet patterns?????

My son has picked a sweater (or 3) that he wants.

My daughter is absolutely drooling over 2 skirts and 2 dresses, not to mention the jacket and tops she wants.

But I want to make something for ME to wear

;)
