  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Speaking of bags--the Hobo bag is finished. My daughter says it is perfect for toting her flute and music and whatnot around school.

Been away from the computer for a few days and have been rather productive. I finished the Hass doily, made two sets of coasters (one with a pitcher mat) and started another set, made a little stocking out of sock yarn and white funfur (need to get more red sock yarn) and whipped up a small mesh bag. All but the doily will go to the church sale.

Looking thru my FO stash I found: a filet wall hanging, a dove filet piece, 2 doilies, 2 treasure bags, 2 quarter keepers, about 2 dozen bookmarks/thongs and a mesh bag. Guess I've been busier than I thought this summer!

I have almost finished a purple pineapple doily (the thread is left from another project-that's why itis purple). I am going to use some patterns that I printed off the celtwich site for pineapple squares and see how big they turn out in size 10 thread. Most are written for smaller stuff-down to size 70 I think. I'm hoping that they will be nice sized square doilies. Just for something different. I'm getting tired of circles.

Hi everyone! I also love to crochet. My grandmother taught me to crochet 2 or 3 years ago and it has become one of my favorite things to do. Recently, my grandmother (who is 90 years old!) had to have shoulder surgery. So I decided the most appropriate gift that I could bring to her in her hospital room was a small crocheted angel. I found a really cute pattern on the internet that you all might like too:

http://www.sarahanns.com/crochetworks/angels.html

I have to make 3 or 4 more of them because my grandma wants to give them as gifts to nurses who have been taking care of her. Soon my grandma's shoulder will heal and she'll be able to make angels too. They would make great Christmas gifts since they can be hung on a Christmas tree.

Much love to all the lovely crocheters out there!

Those are so cute. Though I'm afraid tha tif I tried to make on it'd end up a mixed up ball of yarn. I can't follow a pattern to save my life. j/k.

btw, whatseekye, my sister likes your character.

I'm so disappointed. The baby afghan that I've been working on - I've been using some old yarn given to me by a friend. I checked before starting the project and I had plenty of yarn to complete the afghan. Or so I thought. I'm only about 3/4 done and I can tell that there isn't enough yarn to complete it.

I crochet doilies, tablecloths, but not wearable items. I crochet loose and if I try to make something to wear it is too big. I like doing pineapple doilies.
Try holding the yarn tighter.
