• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Creationists should abstain

Should the Creationist subforum be closed down?

  • Yes, creationists won't stick around.

  • No, this will create a spirit of fellowship between creationists and TEs

  • No, not if troublemakes like you go away

  • Other (elaborate at will)

The creationist sub-forum has now fallen to the Theistic Evolutionist agenda to drag creationists into highly contentious and divisive debates. I had hoped that Christian Forums would allow this sub-forum enough space for Creationists not interested in debate to talk among themselves.

My advice to creationists is simply this, abstain from posting here. If you think you can stick it out and make a difference then go for it. I have been here since the sub-forum was first suggested and one right after the other saw creationists ran out of here. Now the TEs are running the show, if you think you have a basis for fellowship with them then I wish you well.

As for me I'm going back to the debate forums where I am at least allowed to speak my mind.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Mark,

I still don't see why it is more fun to come here and argue with creationists. Maybe I should be flattered that everyone wants to come here and pipe up. This forum has never been so active. Funny thing is, none of the creationists seem to enjoy any of it.

(This be the kind of joy the ACLU dreams about on the day they get to go to the Cathedral and go wee-wee on the pews.)

Just put your freakin' TE post in OT. Its not like we don't read it!

Mark, just try the ignore feature for a while. There has got to be a better way than flushing the whole thing.

(You know, when I did use the ignore feature, I found I couldn't help but peek. Kind of silly, huh?)

It's not just that BD, I've been bored with the whole thing for some time now. I think the way the board is being moderated it's going to make this forum an idiot magnet. I was hoping to find creationists who were interested in the life sciences. To tell you the truth I don't blame them for wanting nothing more to do with this after a couple of rounds.

I come off of active duty in a couple of months and I think I'll check out the new Creation Science museum. AIG and Discovery have impressed me with the headway they are making and these pointless exchanges with theistic evolutionists have not impressed me one bit.

I'm going to reevaluate things and see if I can find something more productive to do with my time. It's been a hoot, God be with you BD.

Grace and peace,
Mark

You went from fighting bring it on to bored pretty quickly bro! ;):D;)

One of the key reasons I stick around is that there are always new folks and folks on the outside. I believe it is encouraging for folks to understand that they can believe God -- believe His Word -- and know that the physical reality lines up with it as well. I also have learned different things at different times. I am tired of the personal insults, though.

We had an "agenda"? No way! The only thing I ever did around here was to try to help people whom I thought were wrong see where they were wrong. (And get rather nasty at times.) I never knew we had a plan to do all this.

If we're this effective and deadly all working on our bumbling own selves, imagine what would happen if we actually did get an agenda going the way MK says we have. How's about it?

Hey! is that a swipe at me Mr. Kennedy?

Hey put all that back where you found it!

But seriously you have a good subforum here. You shouldn't give that up just because you have touchy neighbours. It is just a case of us all learning to get along.

The moderation policy is biased against creationists fighting back. We are just supposed to listen to the insults. TEs are going to dictate the policy around here and no one cares if we like it or not.

The last straw what when a flagrant flame was ignored and then a TE moves my response to the common area. It's going to be how it is around here and it lacks any real intellectual integrity.

TE is Darwinism, plain and simple. Darwinism itself is metaphysics which is basically a theory of everything. They have taken their atheistic philosophy into every major seminary in Christiandom. Why would a casual discussion board be immune.

Hang in there, you're in my prayers but I just can't stomach the bias.

Yes, but if we put the flamers on ignore and ignore threads they start, we do not encourage them, and the only price we pay is little lines through some threads. It works very well. Its under your control. You can allow folks who are respectful, and just get rid of the others. I hadn't used it before, and hadn't realized just how useful it is. We can have great discussions in both OT and here, and you don't have to even read the flamers. It is wonderfully freeing to let the results stand -- to let God be in charge of His truth -- to not feel like I have to answer every falsehood.

Sure you did and when it came down to walking the walk you never had the courage of your convictions. Sure you will make a challenge the Creationism is Geocentricism and worse but you won't support it. You do what TEs do, you argue in circles.

You have not expressed anything remotely similar to a Biblical doctrine and yet you are a Christian according to you and CF. To put this in Biblical terms, many are called (ecclesia 'church'=called out ones) few are chosen.

If we're this effective and deadly all working on our bumbling own selves, imagine what would happen if we actually did get an agenda going the way MK says we have. How's about it?

I never addressed you in the third person, I never needed a crowd bar room backslapping me to speak my mind.

"1. One of the primary obligations assigned by Christ to the office divinely committed to Us of feeding the Lord's flock is that of guarding with the greatest vigilance the deposit of the faith delivered to the saints, rejecting the profane novelties of words and the gainsaying of knowledge falsely so called. There has never been a time when this watchfulness of the supreme pastor was not necessary to the Catholic body, for owing to the efforts of the enemy of the human race, there have never been lacking "men speaking perverse things,"[1] "vain talkers and seducers,"[2] "erring and driving into error."[3] It must, however, be confessed that these latter days have witnessed a notable increase in the number of the enemies of the Cross of Christ, who, by arts entirely new and full of deceit, are striving to destroy the vital energy of the Church, and, as far as in them lies, utterly to subvert the very Kingdom of Christ. Wherefore We may no longer keep silence, lest We should seem to fail in Our most sacred duty, and lest the kindness that, in the hope of wiser counsels, We have hitherto shown them, should be set down to lack of diligence in the discharge of Our office." (PASCENDI DOMINICI GREGIS, ON THE DOCTRINE OF THE MODERNISTS, ENCYCLICAL OF POPE PIUS X, SEPTEMBER 8, 1907)

If they still had the courage to say these things I would convert to Catholicism.

God have mercy on you,
Mark

i am not a fan of the ignore list though others find it useful, i usually use their insulting and poor remarks to fond evidence to prove their lack of truth or to strengthen my arguments.

it isn't pleasant reading all those insults but it does provide one with an opportunity to see the weakness and weak spots of alternative thinking.

oneof the things i find funny is that TE"S claim they belong to Christ, yet their comments deny such claims as they are usually the first to deride, insult, act superior to others and so on.

they feel they have an advantage because they use science but they forget that not all science is of God and is leading them down the wrong path.

i used to post on a secular archaeology board and one of the things you learn there is that archaeologists, like evolutionists, work from very miniscule information (the majority is still buried or destroyed) and build fanciful theories and conclusions from such minute details, like evolutionists, then proclaim such conclusions when it doesn't have a shredof hope being based inrelaity.

sort of reminds you of the fable 'the emporer has no clothes'. the seculoar archaeologists, like the evolutionist, all think they look good, handsome, beautiful, when in reality they are exposing their true self (all that which is bad) and do not realize it.

Sorry but my brand of apologetics does not put people on ignore. I hope it works but I don't have the slightest interest in where this is going. It's basically going to be shut up and listen. I don't react to insults and insipid attacks when I know what their vulnerabilities are. I've read their scientific literature and Darwinism is going to fall by it's own weight.

You know, early on I was just wanting to know if their epistemology could hold water, it really can't. It only took me a couple of weeks to figure that out. It took a lot longer for the genetic evidence to finally reveal just how impossible the transition from apes to humans is.

Creationists are waking up to this but there are more important things that need addressed. Bible illiteracy is rampant, the cults are a constant threat and the occult is making a big come back. We could win the battle against Darwinism and loss the real war.

I don't feel justified in beating up on this tired modernist mythology while the world perishes for lack of knowledge. This has been a fun past time but I really feel led to do something more productive.

Grace and peace,
Mark

I am always surprised at how systems of interpretation are built up on so little actual *data*. Geology is another field with this limitations in certain cases. Evolutionary theory is the most fascinating, where it often does not require any real *data*, but rather is a test of story telling -- who can come up with a good story about how one animal could change into another. Theory replaces real data, because real data is nonexistent.

Fair enough, bro. I don't know about Darwinism falling though. It is supported too strongly by the father of lies, and it appeals too neatly to the prideful vanity of men.

The only way Darwinism has survived this long is it leaches off of genetics and the other legitimate life sciences. Mendelian genetics will eventually undue him completely but it will be a gradual thing.

Amen! I will not fight the leading of God. (I'm not THAT dumb!) I hope you poke your head in once in a while - I really enjoy your posts.

I don't know that I could resist, you, Fallen Waters, Vossler and a handful of others are what kept me coming back in the first place. It's such a joy to watch good natured creationists shinning like lights in this twilight philosophy. You have shown remarkable composure and despite their best efforts no one snatches a believer from the Living God.

Be of good courage, your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Grace and peace,
Mark
