Brute facts like humans and dinosaurs lived together?

Like the earth is no more than 10000 years old?

Like the deity of the ancient Hebrews was really the creator of the whole universe?

How are those brute facts doing these days?

Creationists have always admitted upfront that they ultimately base their position on faith that the Bible is the true Word of God.

The funny thing is that you guys (evolutionists) can't admit your faith positions, no matter how obvious it becomes.

All anatomical systems in biology, anywhere in existence, *must* have been assembled by natural selection acting on variation. You don't even need to study it, you *know* it's true already. All of the cosmos *must* have evolved from some mysterious primordial state, and if the evidence doesn't point that way, then it is simply a "god of the gaps" that will be solved in the future.

You guys constantly exude a never-to-be-questioned, faith-based metaphysics so I can't help but laugh when you do the pseudo-skeptic routine and attack others for their own.

Time...in your example. Or anything that prevents two groups
from mating.....is a different species.

It could be attitude....color.....agressivness....anything.
Correct. My question stands; What prevents the different types of cichlids from mating?

That's the foundation of science. We can test things now and in the future.
But we can't test things in the past. Sorry.....but time has screwed you.
Incorrect. Neil Shubin tested the past quite successfully.

But let's pretend for a moment that science can't test things that are in the past. Doesn't that mean that YECs aren't able to test the past as well?

From the link;

"Past events cannot be observed, cannot be predicted or deduced from physical evidence, and cannot be tested experimentally."

Neil Shubin proved this claim wrong with his discovery of Tiktaalik. He predicted when and where a fossilized transitional between fish and amphibians would be found. Fossilization is a past event.

That why science tests things over and over and over.
Old observations are outdated by new concepts and new ideas.
Which is exactly what happened to Flood geology 200 years ago.

The bible time table,
Is not evidence for rapid evolution.

coupled with the lack of any science to oppose it or prove it was slow.
All of science opposes it by showing that evolution is a slow process.

You seem to conveniently forget that all post-Flood evolution happened in the present state.

They simply appeal to faith in the present regime.
While you appeal to faith in your own imagination.

The seasons rings represent now are not what cycles rings represented if a tree grew in weeks. Obviously. Care to address this?
I did. I showed an example of bamboo which grows in weeks yet has no rings. No mature tree ("fruit-bearing") lacks rings.

Are you kidding?

Faith in these verses is not only what starts these debates, but keeps them going.
One of those rare occasions when I agree with you. Faith in Bible verse is what keeps these debates going because YECS have no science to present instead.

Do we have to assume that, per evolutionary assumptions, the genotype/phenotype of humans 4500 years ago was more or less exactly like a modern human?

*edit - also do we have to assume mutation rates were the same then as they are now?
You can assume any mutation rate you wish as long as you logical reasoning for why you're assuming it.

BTW, "I want it to be this way" is not logical reasoning.

Then keep looking.

Until you can draw a map with everything on it that is supposed to be on it, you have no point about the map not being the territory.
Do you realize how idiotic this sounds?

Speaking of that, do you know why no [planetary] aliens have found us yet?

It's because we sent a faulty map into space in 1974.

The Aricebo map shows the earth as being the third planet from the sun, in a solar system consisting of nine planets.
 Tell me you aren't really as stupid as this make you look.

Good!

I'm on the right track then.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

I'm not really as stupid as this make me look.

I'm stupider.

Afer all, I believe Jesus walked on water!
