Rapid evolving and adapting of the kinds from the ark.

What is the mechanism that produced this rapid evolution, and why is it not operating today?

Please keep in mind that, for example, there are over 900 species of bat, and there are at best 2 Kinds of bat (mega and micro bats).

How did we get at least 898 rounds of speciation in 4500 years - and all with nobody noticing?:prayer:

Then let me spell it out for you.

There is no scientific evidence for the claims in the Bible -- none.

But that certainly won't stop you guys from demanding it, will it?
For as long as you keep declaring that the Bible is not fiction.
I saw a kid the other day in the store screaming for a Johnny Seven OMA at the top of his lungs, while his mother told him the store doesn't have those; and it reminded me of how scientists act.

Can you name these scientists that you have seen acting in this fashion?

Until, of course, the past involves having to uncover a miracle or two, then suddenly uniformitarianism takes precedence over catastrophism ... doesn't it?

The past is fun to ignore/rewrite, isn't it?

Catastrophes are miracles?

Is it your position that uniformitarianism proscribes catastrophic events?

Dear sfs, I have. Noah's grandsons married and produced today's Humans with the prehistoric people who were already here when Noah arrived. This was some 10k years ago and there were millions of people here who provided the genetic diversity shown in today's Humans. Gen 6:4 God Bless you

So - the flood didn't really kill everyone except those on the ark?

Each person only carries two alleles. There would be 4 alleles between Adam and Eve. With such a recent bottleneck, we should not see this type of genetic diversity in one gene, but we do.

It should be a simple issue, but it seems that simple is often too complicated for those that prefer soothing narratives over evidence.

So, you just BELIEVE everything written by ancient middle eastern numerologists?

Wow...
LOL -- that's a new one to add to the list.

Now they're "ancient, Bronze Age, ignorant, goat-herding, desert nomad middle eastern numerologists"?

Of course there is consensus. And the consensus is usually portrayed to the public as if it is beyond question, yet it also tends to be based on agreed upon assumptions instead of brute facts.

Brute facts like humans and dinosaurs lived together?

Like the earth is no more than 10000 years old?

Like the deity of the ancient Hebrews was really the creator of the whole universe?

How are those brute facts doing these days?

Agreed.

Not until creationists/ID advocates stop claiming it has scientific support and should be taught in secular public schools.

If you want us to stop asking for evidence for bible lore, tell your brethren and sistren (?) to stop claiming that there IS evidence for it.

Pretty simple.

Cart before the horse, chief.

Miracles are catastrophes -- or interruptions to uniformity.

Catastrophe | Definition of catastrophe by Merriam-Webster

1. : the final event of the dramatic action especially of a tragedy
2. : a momentous tragic event ranging from extreme misfortune to utter overthrow or ruin
3
a : a violent and sudden change in a feature of the earth
b : a violent usually destructive natural event (as a supernova)
4: utter failure :

OK - miracles are catastrophes.

I don't know about goats, but they were very obviously in the middle east, they were very obviously ancient (2000+ years ago), they were very obviously numerologists (note the repeated usage of certain numbers and their factors and such).

Bologna.

I claim there isn't any, and I get just as much demand for evidence as the next guy.

In fact, even my user title says SCIENCE CAN TAKE A HIKE, and it doesn't stop the eeking and ooking for evidence.

Isn't it ironic that scientists who call those Jews "desert nomads" out of one side of their mouth, also claim there's no evidence that the Jews ever wandered in the desert?

Your map can take a hike.

It is the territory that you are telling to take a hike. You have a problem with reality, not me.

Except now the sun is where the earth used to be drawn ... right?

Funny how you cite an example of how biblical interpretations were changed to fit the observations made of the territory.

Different legend though ... right?

It still says Pluto.

Changing our definition of what is and isn't a planet is no different than changing our definition of what is or isn't part of Russia as time changes. All we are doing is shifting the arbitrary lines that humans project onto the territory. When Ukraine stopped being part of the Russian Soviet Republic, nothing about the physical nature of Ukraine changed. The mountains were still in the same places.

So the area that is now known as New Jersey used to exist during the Jurassic Period?
Wikipedia said:
Around 180 million years ago, during the Jurassic Period, New Jersey bordered North Africa.
And if so, Noah could have lived there prior to the Flood?

If one is going to posit drastically different mutation rates, then one will need to provide a rationale and corroborating evidence, not mere 'what ifs' or assertions.

Sorry but conventional 'science' would be in shambles if it were held to that standard. (especially in the realm of Cosmology) ... Though I guess it's probably okay with you as long as the "what ifs" support an evolutionary narrative.
