Thanks. I do not understand why antiabortion Christians do not do all that is in their power to legally lower the abortion rate. We all know what works. Like it or not children that are thoroughly educated in all aspects of sexual reproduction have a lower teenage pregnancy rate, lower teenage abortion rate, and I have not checked it yet but I am willing to be a lower teenage STD rate.

The myth of an eternal life is one thing but the destruction of young lives in the here and now is quite another.

Just because some people believe in eternal life should not mean the ruination of other peoples lives, others should not be made to suffer because of anothers misguided beliefs.

I know the joy, hopefulness, and peace that faith can bring, and I've also witnessed the hurt, chaos, conflict, and rejection religious adherence has caused.
I think rigid allegiance to dogma that is impervious to reason, sensibility, development, compassion, and grace is what is destructive and even ruinous.

Perhaps but sometimes an abortion can save two lives, the child from being unloved, unwanted and rejected and the mother from living a life filled with regret and hate.

Legally, killing a child is permissible as long as the mother decides to have it done. If someone else does it, it's murder.

On the other hand each time I go to the grocery store I observe that the people all look different from each other. In fact if they all looked the same I would probably freak out. I have been in many hunting camps where the only way to tell the does apart was where they were shot.

It hasn't occurred to you that humans are particularly good at telling other humans apart? It matters a lot whether the guy you run into is your friend or an old enemy or somebody trying to steal your wife. On the other hand, a chicken is pretty much just a chicken. So we have a highly developed skill for distinguishing humans, but not one for other animals.

Rather than just going on impressions, we can look at data. Genetically, humans are more similar to each other than most members of animal species are.
