I don't know what you mean by "evolution speak". If you're referring to the fact that there is specific terminology in science, that's no different than any other field. Part of the learning process is learning what that terminology means.

I never said otherwise. There is more to learning a subject than just memorizing definitions. It also involves learning concepts, ideas, methodologies, etc.

If one is willing to immerse themselves in a subject, a conceptual understanding of it can eventually emerge.

I'm not really sure where this discussion is going. Are you trying to understand how people learn?

Try this - remove the word "Indian" from your statement and see if it changes your point in any way. If the woman's race adds nothing pertinent we have (latent) racism.

The relevance was her heavy "Indian" dialect, which is uniquely hard (for me) to understand.

Her being Indian is not relevant:
1. A woman had an accent you could not understand. That is relevant.
2. There are many accents round the world you would struggle to understand. Your claim of uniqueness is hyperbole.
3. The woman was Indian. Given point 2 above, that fact is irrelevant.

I've dealt with people from many different countries. The Indian dialect is the only one that gives me problems. Therefore that ethnicity must be identified as the culprit. Of course people who don't speak English at all are harder to communicate with regardless of their ethnicity.

The accent you couldn't understand in the video is not Indian, and I can guarantee you have not dealt with people with every "difficult" accent.

It's interesting that there have been a few posters in these forums recently who are unaware of the racist overtones of their posts. They insist that, because they are unaware of those overtones, the overtones cannot be real. But that's not how racism, or any other form of discrimination, works.

What was the "effect" of my not understanding the Indian woman's speech? Is asking her to write down what she meant 'racist'?

I'm very critical of black people generally, because they have failed to take advantage of the opportunities available to them that would lift them up. Is that racist?
