Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.
And yet, other "unorthodox" denominations are allowed congregational forums. Seventh-day Adventists, Messianic Judism, etc, all fall under some form of unorthodox. There's no contradiction.
CF isn't going to say that you are not Christian. That is between you and God.
However, we're not going to say that unorthodoxy is the same and equal to orthodoxy.

Those forums are still open to all members, as I understand it.Could you be more specific as to what these proposed changes entail? I don't mind the Nicenes having their own doctrinal forum but I should be able to interact with them as I do now in Christian Apologetics, Christian Philosophy & Ethics, etc.
Those groups adhere to the Nicene Creed, and so are considered to be orthodox for the site's purposes. And yet, other "unorthodox" denominations are allowed congregational forums. Seventh-day Adventists, Messianic Judism, etc, all fall under some form of unorthodox.

Their own forum specific rules would have more information, but I believe the only Theology forum that has Nicene restrictions on who can debate is the Nicene Theology forum.
Hi,
If you have any suggestions or proposals, please post them here.
Blessings,
Letalis
You can start fellowship threads if you want, but these sections will be aimed towards debate. There will not be any safe-havens or congregations for non-Christian or unorthodox groups.
Erwin's reforms never included the creation of congregation forums for unorthodox and non-Christian groups.
CF isn't going to judge your walk. We aren't going to tell you that you're not Christian, and that's not what this forum rearrangement is aimed at doing.
However, CF isn't going to take a stance of neutrality. The site still is aimed at promoting orthodox Christianity.
Sure seems like ya can grab you a Nicene icon and go join their forum and if any questions are asked just say God sent you.f) No more restriction of faith icons - who are we to tell you who you are or what you believe in? In fact, no other restrictions - if you want to call yourself married, go ahead. It is between you and God, not you and CF.
Agreed.I strongly feel we should leave it as it is right now...
how many more "reorganizations" does CF need...really???
It works as is...leave it be...
just my mites...

The decision rested with Erwin. Other staff gave input.Letalis, maybe you could clarify something for me. Are you saying that Erwin decided that there would be no congregational forums for LDS/JW or that "we" did and in either case who is "we"?

Then why didnt Erwin announce this? Please give us the link where this decision was made. The decision rested with Erwin. Other staff gave input.
