The bible has never and will never contradict itself.
It's just that simple.

Was Jesus born during Herod's reign around 4 BC like in Matthew, or in 6 AD during Quirinius' governorship of Syria, like in Luke?

Scripture doesn't provide those dates so they are estimations by men. How about posting actual scriptures and prove your claim that the two books provide different years of birth?

Who led the Israelites into the Promised Land? Joshua or Jesus?

Acts 7:45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

Joshua and Jesus are the same name in different languages. Was that supposed to stump me? lol

God is credited with leading Israel through Moses.

Isa 63:11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?

The HE here is God. The shepherd of the flock is Moses.

Isa 63:12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
Isa 63:13 That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?
Isa 63:14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
Isa 63:15 Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?
Isa 63:16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
Isa 63:17 O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

Jesus followed Israel, not led them:

1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

^_^ ... I can be a nerd at times, eh?

But for the record, I didn't think that was going to stump you.

And 1 Corinthians 10:4 is one of my favorite verses.

.

No disrespect intended but...asking this question reminds me of a crime scene. Two witnesses see the same crime but one says the man had on a red shirt and the other says he had on a green shirt. Who cares? The important fact was Jesus was born. I don't see that as a contradiction.

If the bible says Jesus was born two different years, that is a problem. However, no evidence has been presented that there is such a contradiction.

Can you tell me what day of the week 10 September 1752 fell on?

And yet we constantly hear that history confirms the Bible. Clearly it doesn't matter if it does or not, which makes that claim a moot point.

Herod's death and quirinius' governorship are well established in Roman history.

You realize, don't you, that the two eye witness accounts of the crime scene are, in fact, contradictory, right?

Is this the same well-established Roman history that says Jesus died, buried, and arose from the grave?

And if Roman history is so well-established, why did they have to inquire of the Wise Men when Jesus was born?

Matthew 2:7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

I never claimed that all history was well established by the romans. I said 5he history of those two events were.

I see.

How coincidental.

Coincidental? No. They kept good, dated records of their leadership (but that isn't all we have; dated coins and statues are also pretty convenient). It would be coincidental if their records were spotty except where it disagrees with the Bible, but that isn't the case.

As for why they didn't include something as important as the resurrection in their records, well, there are several possibilities:

1. It didn't happen the way the Bible states it did
2. It was intentionally left out of records due to a desire to suppress a religion they didn't believe in
3. It was recorded, and since lost, due to various reasons (anti-Christians destroying evidence, destroyed naturally before proliferation due to fire, etc.)
4. It just wasn't observed by, or informed to the historical writers whose writing has survived

I'm sure people can think of plenty of other explanations. It's one of the reasons for the statement "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."

Jesus was born in the year AD 1.

This 4 BC junk can take a hike.

It's really 2020 -- but of course, scientists had to get their fingers in it and now everything's messed up.
