Dan, do you understand the question?

Genesis 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

What was that language?

I say it was Jacobean English.

What say you?

I say that the blue text isn't historical, but rather mythical or allegorical, therefore, the question of "what language" is invalid as there is no answer. There is no such language.

See those blue lines?

How many missing links do you think they're glossing over, just to connect the dots?
We have a whole lot of fossils that fit on those lines.

Not to mention the detailed genetic patterns that demonstrate those lines.

Does it have to be historical to be answered?

What did Hansel & Gretel use to mark their trail?

What did Goldilocks find to eat in the house in the woods?

If this is a quiz about the contents of the text, it is off topic in this section. I seriously doubt the language is named in the story, but even if it is I don't care about bible trivia.

Okay -- let's see if I got this right.

First you say:

"I say that the blue text isn't historical, but rather mythical or allegorical, therefore, the question of "what language" is invalid as there is no answer. There is no such language."

In other words, you're saying there is no answer because the text isn't historical.

But after I challenge your logic, THEN you say ...

"If this is a quiz about the contents of the text, it is off topic in this section. I seriously doubt the language is named in the story, but even if it is I don't care about bible trivia."

I have a feeling you want me to believe there's no answer because YOU don't care for Bible trivia.

Am I right?

Personally, I don't care for Hansel & Gretel.

But if asked, I'd be glad to say they used bread crumbs to mark their trail.

Read the posts above, mine and others. All of the answers to any "serious" questions you ask are given. We're not interested in your games and trivia questions.

Better yet, why don't you hang around more often?
I have a job. I work for a living.
Also, I have a girlfriend, and a boat.
All these things take up a lot of my time

A job, a girlfriend, and a boat.
Seems a perfect formula for guy type contentment.

It works. Alas I have been hit with a summer cold. I am all stuffed up, and coughing up nasty stuff.
I need to take time off. So I may be here a bit more, for a few days

Wow. So I was wrong. There is such a thing.
Not that it matters. I've still never used one.
Ya -- that's about right.

"I was wrong, but it still doesn't matter."

Reminds me of so many "we were wrongs" that come out of the pages of science.

Those oops-moments that are temporarily set aside to bury their victims, or give students an F for making a "mistake" on their test that ended up correct years later.

Then move on in the name of progress.

So you cannot connect cause with effect, but can extrapolate a connection between one fantasy, and another fantasy.

Who is usher

An Archbishop who assumed far too much who is still being influential in creation circles today. He came up with the well know often said '6 thousand years' but people quoting this time frame often don't know who they are quoting or how or why that time frame came to be. Worse is he gave creation a date which is a hugely arrogant thing to do and in my view completely discredits him.
Ussher decided that God created the world, he said in a 1658 chronology titled The Annals of the World, on October 23, 4004 BCE.
I think other creationists would do well to study who came up with this time frame and decide if Ussher is someone they want to identify with. I don't.

But the Bible does tell us how old the universe is. For in six days God created the heavens and the earth and everything in them. Adam was created on the sixth day then the genealogy records indicate just over 4,000 years from Adam to Christ’s birth. This doesn’t in anyway negate our need for faith since it has never been proven by science. So we still have to choose to have faith in the scriptures without having scientific proof to support it.
Who was Moses' grandfather according to the Bible? Yet 430 years passed between Levi and Moses. Genealogies skip in the Bible and father can mean ancestor. Using them to calculate dates is not accurate in my opinion.

Kohath was Moses’ grandfather. Levi was Moses’ great grandfather’s. Exodus 6:16-18

Still can't fit 430 years in there.
Genesis 15:16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

Four generations totaled 430 years back then.

Jacob → Levi → Kohath → Amram → Moses

Levi was 137 when he died.
Kohath was 133 when he died.
Amram was 137 when he died.
Moses was 120 when he died.
