Could I have religious OCD?

Oh? Like what? I'm genuinely curious. I only have 1 video ad a very minutes of googling worth of knowledge.

I'm surprised you haven't noticed them in your time here. They're the "have I committed the unforgivable sin" or "is <insert whatever here> the mark of the beast" or "is <insert mundane activity here> a sin" threads. Just giving these as examples, not trying to call out or shame those who have posted them. If anyone reading this has posted them, then that means you had a specific spiritual and possibly mental need, which had to be filled; the good news is you don't have to live in that fear anymore.

Well, the first step is yours. Nothing I say will get you to , at the very least, explore other theological perspectives or for a moment take the rest,Jesus Christ of Nazareth gave us all, using no theology but His promise.

My wife and I are quite close to our Elder at our church. I haven't been to church much for the last several months though. Reality hasn't been treating me very well. I do however call and E-mail him frequently. I will send him a n email and see what he has to say.

One thing that unfortunately bears mentioning, make sure that this elder believes that such a thing as OCD, specifically religious ocd, exists. There are some who don't, and they will likely not be much help to you.

Hi, so no you are not alone, i struggle with it and many other christians, you can search this forum people already talked about scrupulosity and religious ocd

i know how hard it can be it is every day battle, it makes me belive i will go to hell and obsessed about is something sin or am i doing something wrong.

i found huge relief in videos from MarkdeJesus you can find him on youtube he talks a lot about religious ocd/perfectionism and other stuff. Also feel free to reach out to people who you think will understand ocd as a real problem. Finding a good christian therapist could help.

Try to learn how to receive Gods love and to rest in the fact that because of Christ you are no longer seen as condemmned but as a child of God. Isaiah 42-3 a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. God is patient with you, and He is the one doing good work in us and perfecting us until the day He comes. If you ever need a talk you can send me a message since i also struggle with this.
