  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could anyone tell me if this is true?

Yes, science books come in handy for those in science.

If it was a Phd in theology, I am quite certain the bible would come in handy.

Much more than that. It is for sociologist, politician, historian, medical doctors, etc. etc. You name it.
I actually learn quite a bit geology from the Bible. And the Bible is still the supreme guide to my geology study. My whole Ph.D. dissertation is, in fact, summarized in two verses of the Bible. I was so amazed and my faith to this Holy Book really started from then.

I have been around a lot of doctors in my work, never have I seen one refer to the bible in their work, never.

If it works for you, that is terrific.

That is normal. I do not refer to the Bible in any of my work either. The Bible gives guide, point out direction, but is not a direct reference in science. The verse of Bible I quoted in my dissertation is put directly behind the cover page. It is not an uncommon way to give credit either.

My current works are ALL guided by the Biblical implications. The problems are too complicated. Without the Biblical guidance, I will totally lose my focus.

Can you be a bit more specific?
This doesn't answer the question at all.

You said/implied that there is plenty of material to teach.
I'm just asking for a couple of examples.

Saying "one includes creationism and the other doesn't" isn't helpfull at all.
In fact, it only fuels the idea that there really is nothing to teach.
