I'd recommend you first read through the Gospels, perhaps an easy version like the Esv. Following Jesus should somehow precede choosing a church or should at least be kind of the same thing. Don't just do religion, find the truth, it might even take all of your life but anything else will just be a sad waste of your time. When you find for yourself that Jesus is very real you will also see He is the person who was most excited while waiting to meet with you. (Visiting NJA's church sound like a awesome start aswel)

You desire and trust God, he leads you in this prayer language, unknown to you, but it proceeds from your mouth, "as the Spirit gave them utterance".
In practice when you think theer is nothing you want more than whatever God has for you I suggest you "go into your closet" and pray, trusting & desiring Jesus Christ to show you his salvation.

Ok, it's a huge task though. If you are the academic type then you would probably have already read it cover to cover in your life and have some idea of the content and cost involved. I pray that you find God's will for your life.

Hi there, you may have seen my earlier posts on this forum where I have been struggling to deal with a decision on whether or not the LDS Church was right for me, or you may have seen my recent post on the Introductions forum.
Either way, I am confused and in my LDS thread, it was suggested that I speak to other people about their Churches, so this is what I'm doing. I don't believe my Church is perfect. But I do believe it to be the most correct Church I have found. We follow the scriptures.

I spent about 20 years of my life studying various religions, studying denominations, and trying different Churches. I tried Mormon, Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Calvary Chapel, United Pentecostal, Assemblies of God, etc.

I believe the LCMS is the Church that most closely follows the biblical model of the Church.
