This weekend I'm going to do my best to finish putting up all the information on the site, rules and everything! Next week you guys will have to finalize your starting purchases. Uzi_4_U I don't remember getting a list from you, but don't worry, just hold off 'till all the info's up!

Well, the primary data (minus the map, sorry) is going up today (in a few hours) so you'll all be able to finalize those picks. I personally recommend spending your whole budget, but you can 'bank' some if you want. 90,000 to spend, go nuts!

ok all I'm ready to sink some ships and whatever else I can shoot at. Any ideas on when we will begin? Also what do we need to do if we want to upgrade the guns on our ships? I thinkin that maybe some 16's would make a bigger boom;)

Well, I thought I should let you know that I'm not dead at any rate! :)
I'm in crunch-time for the end of this semester, I've got projects and exams flying all over... wish I had a good foxhole to go hide in!
However, I have been plugging away at CTF whenever I've had a chance. Our first 'beta-round', so to speak, isn't too too far off. I've been looking into programing ( & programers) for the battles, alot of this could be an automated system, but there isn't much point in building too much automation too early when I know that fiftybazillion things will get changed the first time through. Anyhow, I'll get back to you guys sometime this week, there'll be a roll call with who's playing and what they're buying for next/this coming weekend. Some of the data that's finished still hasn't gone up yet, gonna fix that soon too! In some cases there just wasn't much point throwing up little factoids before they were needed. In a few 'rare' cases, I just haven't gotten around to it yet! :D

Anyhow, I'll have another site update soon and do a roll call after that! Good luck to anyone else gearing up for exams! :)

That would be fine by me! I would still like to have all the starting choices done by players earlier than that though, it wouldn't require 'regular' activity anyways.

The site, accessible by my CF custom page, has been updated with every ships starting configuration! You should now have everything you need to decide how to spend your starting budget. I would like to have everybody playing make a post akin to,

My ship choices:

Titanic (marked as flagship)
HMS James Earl Jones
2 Generic destroyers

So please try and get this to me in this thread within a week or so, no big rush though. :)

Some points for helping you choose! (please read)

-Starting budget is 90,000 RPs.

-While there are no axis carriers, British players can and should expect to encounter axis aircraft nonetheless, land based squadrons don't have infinite reach, but they have noteworthy range not to be overlooked.

-All ships will be shot at in every range, one way or another. Fights start at range 3, and closing the distance to the desired range is not instantaneous!

-There is a limit of 5 ships for the start, including destroyers and subs. There is a reason for this, rank will be in the game, the higher the rank the more ships you can command at once. Your 'vote' on varying issues gains weight with higher rank too!

-Destroyers and subs are not unique ships and may be bought multiple times.

-Aircraft are not yet listed, but for carrier players I can say this, they will be decently numerous in supply, and they will not be destroyed by a single hit from 0.5" AA or nothing. They also have an aim modifier in combat, ie they are harder to hit than it appears. The amount of planes a carrier with a 'deck' can carry vs a carrier with a 'small-deck' will be around 2:1, btw.

-Subs do not fire much in combat, they bug out far earlier than planes or surface ships. Surface ships stay (or can stay, assuming they don't try to withdraw on purpose) the longest of all. Planes are imbetween.

-Yes, some ships do not use all their WPs. Heavy turrets don't count towards the total WPs, they use the HT slots instead. If you add up all the other weapons on a ship you will find that their total space usually isn't equal to the total WPs listed for that ship. Most ships have some leftover space where they simply weren't optimized, this space can be used btw!

-Weapon prices are already calculated into every ships' total!

-If you want to buy new weapons, be warned, you will have to sit some time in port at the start of the game! I've changed my mind on time-free weapon changes at the start, it now takes time to change/add weapons even at the beginning.

-Ask me questions if you need to! :)
