The reason for adding a leap second is that the planet does not rotate exactly once every 24 hours (86,400 seconds). The rotation actually takes 86,400.002 seconds so that each day this little difference builds up between the atomic clock and the earth's rotation... so do you still think we are ok???

Totally wrong.

Water weighs more than land. Land mass grouped together is counter weighted by the water on the other side. The earth was balanced although because man, by creating dams or by changing that balance, created an imbalanced earth. You add that much water weight to a small area, by law of physics, it has to affect the spin of the earth. It is because of the balance of the earth that the continents are still fairly bunched together

You say that man adding water to a place on earth were there was none previously will cause earthquakes. Have you backed up this theory by changes in history where there were once rivers and ocean that are now dry land and water where there wasn't if this caused seismic events?

Thousands of "scientists" have PhD's and believe in evolution - that does not make them right.

Dam up water in an area of the earth that never had that much water and you get earthquakes and an imbalance which will cause a chance in spin of the earth. Three Gorges dam, as well as other dams, have submerged areas where there was no earth so the claim "dirt weighs more than water" in debunking what I stated is nothing more than lunacy. The water behind the dam is on top of the earth and is not replacing dirt. It is an addition and not a replacement.

I don't dispute that these dams can cause problems, but they can not be the singularly named cause of earthquakes as was presented.

Recently I experienced my first earthquake, this happened in the same week as the Hurricane Irene came up the coast which I also weathered. It is something to contemplate it the two were related.

Right now for my area for the year we have over 27 inches more rain than normal, tomorrow it is predicted to add 3-4 more on top of that. Our farm lost most of it's fall crops because of the over-saturation and flooding in the fields. I was picking tomatoes in bare feet in the mud this week (not a fun thing!).

This is a long but good article on this subject. So many think this is such a non-event, and well it could end up being just that, yet for someone who doesn't believe in coincidences this sure seems to be something to take notice of.

While researching Oct 28, 2011 I ran across this little tidbit..

It wll be exactly 7,000 years from the day of the flood to Oct 21, 2011. Even God said himself in the old testament “A day is to a thousand years and a thousand years is to a day and in seven days I will destroy this world with water”. so as to suggest in 7,000 years he will destroy the world again except with fire.

He is obviously mixing two verses...

I say.. ok let's follow this thought through and see if we can land on the same date..

Add up the numbers Shem’s 100th year (Gen. 11:10) and Abraham (Gen. 11:26) we get 350 years and the fact in Genesis 11:10 Shem was 100 years old 2 years after the Flood. 1,981 years to AD 0 plus 967 years to the founding of Solomon’s Temple plus 480 years to the end of the Exodus plus 430 years to the promise to Abraham plus 75 years to Abraham’s birth plus 350 years to Shem’s 100th birthday plus 2 years to the Flood. This places the Flood at approximately 2304 BC [2011+2304 = 4315 years ago]

I can not come to 7,000 like this writer came to though... if you can come up with a better calculation I would like to see it.

It is interesting to note that it is on the agenda for the United Nations to be discussing and voting on dividing Israel to create a Palestinian state sometime during the month of September. Could it be divine appointment that the Father divides the land of the nations - that divides His? There is no news out on how the UN meeting went on Sept 20th. What we do know is that the Palestinian president on Friday formally asked the United Nations to recognize a state of Palestine, defying U.S. and Israeli opposition.

Early this morning they said it was going to fall out over the ocean and miss the US this afternoon.

Then I heard about the reaction of the UN to the Palestinian asking for recognition for statehood. (Much applause was reported)

Now NASA is saying that the satellite has slowed down, did not enter our atmosphere yet and now may hit the US tonight or tommorow early.

If e.g. the scientific community can explain this in terms of natural laws as they understand them, of course one is going to run into obduracy. This commmunity and the rest of the secular world reject G-d as being the ultimate cause of all things...

It is interesting to note that the satellites speed was altered by the action of the Sun. It seems the sunspots or flares that happened did this. The Sun is one thing in our universe that mankind has not been able to control but it isn't off-limits for the L-RD
