• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi everyone.

Woo Hoo  ...one year cut free is totally awesome!!!!! Yay for you!! By the way, don't feel like you were a faker just because you didn't look as bad as the other girls...thank God that you didn't look as bad as them!! People don't have to look sick to be so. I'm so glad that you are getting control over this  . Soooooo, did you pass your road test????

Hey, I haven't watched Star Trek in year. I used to love watching it when I was a kid....ages ago ;) . I don't really watch that much si fi anymore. Tastes have changed I guess. Do you remember Space 1999? That's so funny now, to think how advanced they thought the world would be in the year 1999 ^_^ ...not even close!

How's everyone feeling today? Great, I hope! Sorry you didn't get those jobs you applied for CyberPaladin! That's a bummer! Hopefully something even better comes up soon. I've been doing good. Boy, it sure is a lot easier to accomplish things whenever you aren't depressed! Hubby was commenting, just the other day, that I seem to be handling life's little stresses so much better lately. He always notices the stress in my eyes and he said it isn't there! I must agree...thankfully  .

I'm getting really excited that the 25th is coming quickly!!! Can't wait to get camping and lounging at the beautiful beach!!! I will definitely get a fun book to read when I am camping, April. I'm not sure what to look for though...hmmm??

Well gotta go. Have a great evening all!

Hi everybody, sorry I haven't been around much lately. Studying, working and facebook has kept me occupied.
How is everyone?

April, congratulations on going a whole year without cutting, that's a huge accomplishment.

I'm doing well! My nephew is six months old today, I can't believe how fast he's growing!

Swings. Awesome I bet that is a great feeling:amen:

Mask that so sounds like fun. We use to camp while I was growing up. I do miss it. Just the other nite I was wishing we were renting a cabin, bcause the weathers been unusually lovely & clear. Gorgeous.

TLB take pictures & film, bcause the moments go so fast is what one friend said. She is totally rite. I bet he's so cute. Glad you're doing well.

Me I may be trying a new venture. Candymaking. We'll see how it all goes:swoon: :D

Oh oh oh. Yes. I should have a new niece arriving shortly from a latin country:angel: It's taken so long to process everything & get her here I forgot to mention it to ya'll:blush:

Better run...her PBS program is almost over!

/me makes lots and lots of ginger tea, and brings in a plate heaped with steaming fruit scones.

Mask, it's good to "see" you again!! :) Or rather, I suppose, I've been kind of lacking in this forum for awhile... oopsies... :o Anyway... I hope you have a lovely time camping - do your kids pack a long time ahead of time? That's always what I used to do when I went to camp. So much anticipation of the fun to be had! I hope that the weather holds up well too - is it drought-ish up there? or does P.E.I. generally get enough rain? And as for fun books, well, Jodi Picoult's stuff is always fascinating!! Or mysteries - I don't know what you like, but Martha Grimes, Anne Perry, Lillian Jackson Braun, and Mary Higgins Clark are all fascinating reads. And - of course - Agatha Christie. I love her books. :) Oh, and Richard Paul Evans is a good "cosy" author. Hehe. That should be a rather daze-ing amount of names... but hopefully that'll help somewhat. :)

And yey for not being so depressed! That's fantastic, and I'm so happy for you. It is amazing how much better things go when you aren't madly stressed about them. *happy dance*

Tracey, how're the work and studies going? I think they would keep anyone busy! and Facebook swallows up a lot of time if you've got a lot of active friends. :) I usually get sucked into it a bit, but lately it's been quieter so I've not been online as much. Good extra time for reading (and exercising... the eternal exercising...).

Gracechick, good luck with the candy-making! I've not done anything other than fudge, but I know that it is something fun to get into. I've had several friends who did chocolate making, and the chocolate covered peanut butter ones .... :swoon: Sooo good!

Things with me are going okay. I didn't actually do my driver's test, since the horn on our car didn't work. I didn't fail, though!! I'm going back on 15 August for a re-do... hopefully it will go better this time 'round! I'm really only freaking out about the parallel parking - I was so worried the night before that I made myself get a stomachache... silly me. And that was all for nothing, too. ;-) Guess this time I won't stress so much.

And guess what!? Jarrod is coming in less than 3 weeks! I can't believe it... it's going to be so nice to see him again and have him around the house for awhile until he gets a job/apartment. *'nother happy dance* On the flip side, my sister is coming to visit, home from grad school for a week, and I'm dreading that. She and I get along fine - most of the time. There's this huge competition thing between us that's been going on since we were little, and we do it without even really noticing. It's stressful, though. And she just takes over everything. She's so chattery, she's so exuberant - she's never been depressed - not even the teenage depression stuff - and it's so hard to put up with that sometimes. It will be tres good if Jarrod can get here while she is here so I actually have someone to hang out with other than her. Does that sound awful of me? :-S

Other news... well, I'm having a friend over for an overnight for the first time in I-don't-know-how-long. She'll be coming over on Friday afternoon. I'm excited. :) We've known each other for almost 10 years, so we're practically sisters. And ... what else... oh yes, I'm working on some music for a church special music thing with my former piano teacher - it's for her church, and I'm not sure what we're doing yet. We'll decide later this week - we have three songs picked out but we haven't played them together yet (two solos [violin and viola, that's me] with piano accompaniment, and a flute/violin duet).

Anyway... over and out, snuggles to all!!

Hi all,

Just popped in to say, WOO HOO...I'm leaving in about 9 hours for my week at the beach  !!!! Can you tell I'm excited? I love it! I don't have much time to chat, bot LOTS to do to get ready (April...unfortunately the kids are procrastanators..so "no" they don't have things ready early!). I went to town twice yesterday, shopping for clothes and some food and a new Get Fuzzy book for my son. Today I have to pack for me and hubby (he's working), pack all the household items we need, food (kids will help some), go back to town and get daughter and I a new book, get my hair cut and highlighted, buy a boogie board for the kids for swimming, and buy more food :swoon: ! Yikes...I'm tired already..teh heh! Oh well once I'm there it will be all worth it. The weather has been great this week  ! We did have a lot of rain lately April, but now it's getting nice. It was really hot yesterday and supposed to be for the next few day. Prefect beach weather.

Well I gotta get going, I just wanted to check in with you before I left. We will be back home sometime next wed. night.

Blessing and ((hugs)) to you all! Hope you all have a great week  .

I have not posted in this thread before, but the coffee smelled so good, I had to come in....lol...I am a 44 year old (yikes) bipolar who has dealt with dpression and anxiety all my life. I have been pretty stable for a couple years now. That is largely due to the right meds and a good woman I married a couple years ago. (Known as RaggedRobin here at cf). Due to marriage and lifestyle changes my life seems to be more settled than ever before. The only thing I get upset over is all the gray hair that seems to be overtaking my head....lol...getting old kind of sucks. I have prayed about that but God hasn't answered yet. I keep waiting to be 21 again, all He says about it is you have 23 years experience at being 21....lol....well the coffee demon came and empty my cup so I guess my time has ended...you all have a great day....and have a laugh on me....God Bless!

Mask, I hope you have a lovely time at the beach! Let us know how it all was, and what adventures you had (you must have some, you know, since you are going on vacation! *emphatic nod* :p), and post some photos too of where you go. :) So, like gracechick said, we can go with you. :)

Rushingwind, welcome to the thread! Always glad to see another face. :) Or something like that, anyway. Sounds better to say it that way than to say "Read another username." So yes. And there are always refills for coffee - goodness knows that I have refills quite often, for all that I say!

Gracechick, I'll have to look that book up. I like the "for Dummies" series - presents things in a very understandable way, which is good as that's the point of the series. A man that my dad knows is the father of the creator of that series. :) Have you tried making anything yet? if so, what, and how'd it go?

Hmm, I'm glad that I haven't gotten too many grey hairs... one or two ... but then again, I have plenty of time for more. :p

Things with me are okay. Not much exciting going on in my life right now... I'm having a friend over this afternoon, for an overnight (I wonder when you get "too old" to do this?), so that will be fun. And we will actually get sleep, too, since that's the way we both operate. Staying up too late just doesn't work. :) I'm also reading the 7th Harry Potter book - just got it the day before yesterday on loan from a friend - and I'm almost done with it. I can't wait to see how they'll make the movie for it, though. Wow.

*hugs to all*

Soulwings You can tell your father's friend I have a learning french, knitting...for Dummy's book:) Amazing idea. Wish I'd thunk that one up. Havn't tried anything yet, but when I was praying I asked God "How do I start all this?" & He replied chapter #4 so I looked & it was the beginning of the recipees. God has such a sense of humor when we really listen to Him^_^

I did order some supplies off of Ebay & got a book from Wilton so I'm getting myself all prepared...That's me analytical to the last bite:yum:

Seriously got to run so a big   to the newbies here. It's too warm for coffee so I'm serving up some southern sweet Iced Tea with Um homade peanutbutter cups.

Hello....I'm back!

Wow that week sure went fast...wishing I was still there :sigh: ! We had a great time camping! I'm sure the kids are glad to be back though....missing friends, internet, cable and free phone calls!! Hubby and I could have stayed there all summer! For the most part the weather was awesome...I've gotten burnt arms and a neck to prove it. I'm actually kinda sore right now from it. By the time we got out there, to the Park, it was evening on wed. We got all set up and only ate our supper at 10:00!! Some of my family came to spend the day with us on thur. (that was fun) and on sat. My little grand nephew (9 months) came too! A couple and two of their kids popped in for an hour or so on sun. (they were dropping their son off at a camp close by). My hubby was working while we were there, he would get up around 5:00, have breakfast and go fishing. He usually came back shortly after lunch, had a bite to eat, sometimes had a little cat nap and then we would go swimming for the afternoon. Every evening, except one I think, we had campfires and made smores :yum: !! We had rain a couple of evenings but that was o.k. We brought a little t.v and DVD player, so we just rented a movie on those nights. All in all, it was a great week! I hated to come back to my boring life  !! Figures....the first day back home and already there are issues with the worship team for this week :swoon: !! Man, I get fed up of trying to sort out everyone's schedules and finding replacement members....especially when there aren't enough members to go around in the first place...AHHHH! It would have been nice to have at least a few days without having to get right back into the same old thing again...know what I mean?

Sorry guys...I didn't take any pictures  ! For one thing, we don't have an digital yet, and I just didn't even think of getting a disposable. Maybe next time?

How have you all been? Welcome to mebby02 and rushingwind62! I highlight my hair with blonde....so who knows if I have grey ones in there or not!! I say NEVER!!!

What's new people?
