That would be the statement right above my response.

Nothing I read there applies to Gentiles. Certianly Jews are permitted to continue their traditions. You could try this for starters:

Paul said very clearly -But now we are delivered from the law... Rom 7:6
Please explain what you think I don't know about the law.He cautions folks that what he is saying is for those who know the law (Rom 7:1).
Perhaps one might consider that, not knowing the law, one is misinterpreting what Paul is saying (which is indeed the case, IMHO).

Hello BobRyan.
'The scriptures of that day' is an excellent point of your own. What they had was Tanakh - The Hebrew Old Testament in a proto-Masoretic form. I would firmly submit that if one cannot find messiah in those very scriptures - All over them - Then one has not found Messiah as one should. There is the milk and then there is the meat.
So who is the they in your verse? Isn't it Israel? Your intention using this passage is we're to listen to Moses and not the writings of the NT. unfortunately I don't think you really believe the above. Great cover though.

Nope! Nothing but Scripture twisting.Paul describes those who are at war with the Commandments of God - vs those who "by the Spirit fulfill the Law" in Romans 8.
See especially Rom 8:4-9
All we're getting from you is more c & p condemnation. In Luke 16 Jesus said 'if they will not hear Moses - neither will they listen though one rises from the DEAD" -
And of course - Christ arose from the dead.
So also in Mark 7:6-13 it is "Moses said" and 'The Word of God" and "The Commandments of God" that Christ said - are all the same thing -- the scripture that condemned the "traditions of man" in that case.
And of course 2 Tim 3:16 "ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God" where "Scripture" in 2Tim 3 - is that which Paul said Timothy was studying as a child.
The bible does not slice itself up into 10 or 15 books to be read by Christians and everything else "useless".
in Christ,
Bob
I think we all know about the Rev 12 example of the "Accuser of the brethren" - whose accusations are put to silence at some point. Here is a great lesson in the Gospel's "plan of salvation".
Wow! I sure wish you really believed that. It would be a whole lot easier to debate with you.The bible does not slice itself up into 10 or 15 books to be read by Christians and everything else "useless".

Your full intention in quoting II Tim3:16 is to dismiss the NT.

Less false factless accusation on your part might make it easier
Have a try.
I've presented even Moses which you throw out by not responding to those passages. They prove you wrong.Less factless accusation -- more facts please.

Yep, ya bet ya!You now believe Moses?
Christ insists that we all accept the Word of God as given to Moses in Mark 7:6-13 and also in Luke 16.
You are now on board with that???

Does this appear in LK 16
15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
Nope, your opinion is wrong. This is necessary to support your idea.Paul describes those who are at war with the Commandments of God - vs those who "by the Spirit fulfill the Law" in Romans 8.

Nope!!!!there is much false doctrine in the world - and what does Christ say is one source of false doctrine in Mark 7?
Mark 7
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the Commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13 Making the Word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
That is a case of Christ demonstrating the way that the magisterium is hammered "sola scriptura" in the cases where it's traditions and "doctrines of men" are at odds with scripture.
Have you had a change of heart??
What exactly do you mean by this verse? Are you attempting to get me to ignore the words of Jesus, God Himself?Luke 16
31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”
