It amazed me when I learned that so many of my American friends are circumcised. This is almost non-existing at all the the Netherlands (where I'm originally from), maybe a few people got it because of true medical reasons. I always thought it was a middle eastern, Muslim thing. Do people still do it to children in the US? It seems very useless to me. You just pull the skin back every day in the shower and it's not issue at all. If we can was our hair, why not our foreskin?

To be fair, it's also seen as "unclean" here to have hair anywhere other than your head. I was told that I needed to shave all of my body hair because it would "make you smell", which leads me to believe that they do not realize soap exists.

Cleaning is made to be a big deal by the people I personally know who are pro-circumcision. Apparently you "can't clean" an infant boy properly because of the foreskin, which is interesting because I don't see an issue with it from people who have uncircumcised sons. Either they are completely ignorant of how to properly clean that area, or they are too lazy to want to do it. Both choices make me roll my eyes.

....yeah, i hear people say it's ''unclean'' too- by saying that though-they are saying that God got it wrong (in the design)
also body hair might smell a bit at times but what it is (designed) for is a dry lubrication- without the hair we would/do have much more chaffing.

Exactly, there is a legitimate reason why it's there, and knowledge of the human body even backs that up. I can understand needing to remove it because of a medical issue, but that is definitely not the case in most all of the children that undergo routine infant circumcision.

Cleaning the eyes is also impossible because of the eyelids and if the doctors could make money removing those they surely would

...also the ''Herd'' element comes into play in these kind of things...free thinking is not often encouraged in large groups -particularly large sectarian religious groups- and as well a lot of people are worked so hard that they don't have time to learn how to think critically as an individual. .

Is this true? And am I right in thinking this 'rule' only applies to females?

If so, on both counts .... what a feast of fetishery!

Where to start with adults who can't cope with the natural human body, in the year 2016? How about with the MEN who can't function sexually unless a woman looks like a prepubescent girl or a young boy. Many such men also require women to be cartoonishly overt in presentation - make up, high heels, etc, in order to function. Some snarks refer to this as latent homosexuality. I prefer to view it (when it isn't latency) as sort of very corrupted and arrested development. The sexual appetites are frozen at about age 14 - then twisted into something that can only function via signals that have nothing to do with what women actually look, feel, and smell like. It's an incredibly emasculating fetish .. and does tend to point to a deep fear of women.

I'm very pleased to live in a place where the men are actually man enough to cope with armpit and leg hair on women. AND they have their foreskins!

Europeans work as hard as Americans, and have as little time to 'think critically as an individual' - yet dispensed with circumcision decades ago. Ditto the bizarre practice of denuding female bodies of hair. So to, the British, Australians, Canadians, and the Japanese. It would seem that America is the odd man out.

The USA is different because the medical system makes money on a commission basis, the more done the more money.

So the sicker they can (legally) make their patients the more money they get, basically why the US medical system is by far the most expensive and about the worst there is. Of course we all believe in the profit motive, but this is one example of where it backfires

I'm glad my parents never had me cut. The only downside is I occasionally hear from American women how gross uncut men are. Which I always found funny, because I usually view it as the opposite.

You're right. Circumcised penises are hideous. I don't know any women under the age of 60 who think they're attractive.

I will admit I do that too, especially living here in Arizona where it's hot. I shave everywhere, underarms, legs and the other lower area. It feels weird to NOT shave. I think it makes me feel fresher in the lower area to shave especially when it's like 110 degrees in the summer! LOL!

Texas is pretty hot too, blah. I would love to live somewhere cold! I feel gross when I get hot no matter what, the only cure is to shower sometimes two times a day during the worst of the summer :waaah:

''It would seem that America is the odd man out.''....maybe just ''the last man out''...it was the same in Australia 40 years ago.

The operative words being '40 years ago'. As far as I can tell, Australians seem more inclined to take their progress cues from Europe. Now that I think about it, are progress cues taken from America, by anyone?

Do the men in your overheated state also shave all the hair from their bodies?

LOL I don't know.

I think you'd notice if male legs/chests/armpits were hairless. I'm willing to bet that men survive the heat just fine with all their hairy bits intact. I find it very difficult to believe women are doing this 'prepubescentising' for practical reasons, given that. Seems much more likely that it's male-pleasing aesthetics (though god knows why you'd want to please 'men' who need females to look like 12 year olds in order to function) and/or tradition.

I do it for myself because I like that way better. :) But I prefer hair on men, men are supposed to be hairy. It's unnatural for men to shave their arms or their legs. But it looks better on women to shave under arms and legs and stuff.
