• St. Athanasius - (296-373 A.D.)
"It becomes you to be mindful of us, as you stand near Him Who granted you all graces, for you are the Mother of God and our Queen. Help us for the sake of the King, the Lord God Master Who was born of you. For this reason you are called 'full of Grace'..."

• Clement of Alexandria - (150-215 A.D.)

"In this way is he [the true Christian] always pure for prayer. He also prays in the society of angels, as being already of angelic rank, and he is never out of their holy keeping; and though he pray alone, he has the choir of the saints standing with him [in prayer]"

• Cyprian of Carthage - (200 / 210 - 258 A.D.)
(Letters 56[60]:5)
"Let us remember one another in concord and unanimity. Let us on both sides [of death] always pray for one another. Let us relieve burdens and afflictions by mutual love, that if one of us, by the swiftness of divine condescension, shall go hence first, our love may continue in the presence of the Lord, and our prayers for our brethren and sisters not cease in the presence of the Father’s mercy"

I know many who fast, pray, sigh, and demonstrate every manner of piety, so long as it costs them nothing, yet would not part with a penny to help those in distress.
-St Basil the Great

“When someone steals another's clothes, we call them a thief. Should we not give the same name to one who could clothe the naked and does not? The bread in your cupboard belongs to the hungry; the coat unused in your closet belongs to the one who needs it; the shoes rotting in your closet belong to the one who has no shoes; the money which you hoard up belongs to the poor.”
― Basil the Great

This Thread is Specifically about Church Father Quotes talking about Saints and Mary who are in Heaven praying and interceding for Us Christians on earth.
Tulc, although, as the OP has stated, this thread particularly is for discussing another topic, maybe you'd like to start a thread about St Basil's homilies on social justice? I'd imagine all of us fall short of his instruction in this area, it's a good topic.
