Some are and some are not. Many people take the grace part of Christianity but fail to produce good works. But I think that anyone, Christian or not, who strives to follow Christ's teachings is moral (that may not be the only measure, but since we're talking about Christianity, it's a good one).

But then, of course, there is the great debate of what morality is in the first place...

If in obedience to God, then yes. The fact is, no one is perfect or perfectly moral all the time (except God). Just because someone claims to serve God doesn't mean they really do or know Him. Thus, their actions may not be morally right. If in obedience to God, then it's by God's grace that they are moral. Now most people have some level of morality, but God's moral standard is different from the world's moral standard.

Assuming a Christian standard of morality:
Christians cover a broad spectrum of morality and immorality just like everyone else. When we try our best to follow God and do good, I think we can be very moral. However, some truly insane people have committed horrible crimes in the name of God because they twisted the words and meaning of Scripture. Christianity is no guarantee of morality, but genuinely trying to follow God can make it more likely.
Assuming general morality:
Who decides what morality is the meterstick, and how can you neatly fit a whole group into one little box?

some of the most immoral people I ever had the displeasure of knowing were (and still are I guess) christians and the some of the more moral folks I have known are non christians..

Some christians I know are the living example of good morals and some non christians I have run with (in my sordid past) are/were some of the lowest of bottom feeders who are (or were) lacking in any standards of morality.

So, to answer your question, yes and no. it depends on the person, although I think some non christians (and I have done this as well) will look harder and more so with a magnifying glass at the christian for faults and expect more from them due to the title they carry.

You define what is moral and what isn't. That is a statement, not a question. By Christian morals, some are moral and some aren't.

Each Christian, that is truly born-again, is from that moment, of better character than before and there is evidence to indicate this.

They became of higher character because they let the Holy Spirit transfer their soul into the Spiritual body of Christ (Col.1:13) (1Cor.12:13), where it was washed clean in Christ's Spiritual blood. (Eph.1:7)

Immediately after this, the person of the Holy Spirit Himself resides in the individual to enable the person to to be the worker Christ had predestined Christians to be. He is God's 'Royal Seal' stamped within us to show we are to be raptured up to God at the due time.

True. Actually the OP contains a very weird question. Christians are humans, impelled and compelled by many factors like anyone else, and their moral actions range from the dispicable, like Torquemada or Pinochet, to the admirable, like Francis of Assisi or Giovanni Bosco.

Just like non-Christians can be dispicable like Stalin, or admirable, like Hellen Keller, Gandhi or Lincoln.
