Your inability to grasp science is not an argument against it.

We do.

This has yet to be demonstrated.

Life isn't some cartoon musical where you sing a little song and all your insipid dreams magically come true.
Life isn’t walking around like a dead shell either.

I'm kidding --- you are all most welcome, even though my three wee question are for Christians !

I was a Christian for most of my adult life but at some point before learning about how evolutionary biology puts a different spin on what happened after God created us, I realized that I was living a lie

Now here's question 1 : Is Evolution, really a BIG FAT LIE?

Question 2 : What evidence would you offer in support of such an idea?

Question 3 : If you are a Christian who stands by the evidence in support of Evolution, how do you reconcile the two - your faith in Jesus and Evolution?

Thank you

I assume you’re talking about the differences between literal interpretations of the Genesis account and evolutionary science? If you want to put that argument to rest in your own mind, I’d suggest researching the studies that put those chapters back into their original context, which gives a much more satisfying and coherent explanation of their actual intended meaning. I would say that J Walton’s ‘The Lost World of Genesis One’ does the best job of pulling all of that together.
I don’t have an issue with evolution as far as I understand it. There is no good reason to treat the Genesis narrative as being in any way scientific. Apart from that question though, it’s important to remember that evolutionary theory is subject to ongoing change and development - it also evolves, also takes steps backwards and forwards etc. Scientific ideas about origins will be as different 50 or 100 years from now as they were 50 or 100 years ago.

To the atheist/evolutionist, life is perceived in an alternate reality of sorts, formulated from a cartoon illustrated by Darwin, showing the development of ape into man, reptile into bird and how this kind is similar to that kind and so on, organizing similar creatures into groups, etc., etc.
I could just hear Professor Porky the Pig teaching the TOE, pointing to Darwin's illustrations. "Da, Da, Da, dis became da, da, dat and da, da, dat became dis and ha, ha, ha, here we are ... And da, dats all folks!
In the audience Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny look at each other and bust out laughing followed by the rest of Toon Town.

How about to the theist/evolutionist?
You know, people like the Pope, Francis Collins, Ken Miller and so so many others?

Your reductions ad absurdum combined with strawmen is not going to have any merrit or impact as an argument, you know....

Jesus is LORD and has ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH.

I know what your beliefs are. I was just talking about your actual point. You said "nope" and then went on to say the exact opposite.

You'll find that out soon

Is that a threat?

The Democrats want to create an all equal Utopian society

'them evil democrats!!!
How dare they!!! A society where people are equal, good grief... THE HORROR!

[quotee]The problem is, sin[/quote]

It seems to me that, rather, the problem is your facistic and divisive beliefs.

You can't create this kind of world with sin in it. It has to be removed first -- it won't work, we've tried it and as you can see where we are, there is no peace and unity.

Because of people like you..........................................

Once sin is removed, then we can all get along, that is those who follow Him.

I'm perfectly okay getting along with believers of various religions. It's those believers of various religions that can't tolerate "the others".

There is room for anyone who believes.

Anyone who believes like you do.

fascism is evil

Then perhaps you should re-evaluate your beliefs.

, we've seen these governments run by fascist leaders, they don't work, they are harmful, destructive, the leaders are selfish and greedy and murderous.
Jesus is LOVE. But God is also a God of justice and sin needs to be judged and REMOVED.

uhu, uhu.

"removing" those who don't agree, is exactly what those facistic leaders did.

Now you are becoming rude.

You call it rude, I call it factual.

I feel at home in a conservative state, finally got out of California, that liberal idiot who runs that sanctuary state is destroying it.

uhu, uhu... but *I* am the one who's being rude, ha?

I advice you to take a step back, perhaps take a deep breath, calm yourself down and engage in a bit of self-reflection.

To suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest possible degree.

This is a word-for-word quote by Darwin from his book the origins of species.

First, it is against forum rules to quote others and make it seem as if they are your own words, so you should include a reference to where you pulled it from.

Secondly, it is an infamous quote mine of darwin to only quote that paragraphe and not the ones that immediatly follow it, where he explains exactly why while it might seem absurd, it is actually not absurd at all.

Cretinism or Evilution?: An Old, Out of Context Quotation

To be truthful, I don't give the "how" a whole lot of thought. I know God created all life.. God used the words let the lands bring forth life in their kind. Kind of an evolutionary way to put it. You think?

It's a bit to "abracadabra" for my taste.

He's making a joke of a Christian's sincere expression of her salvation, her spiritual self. She is clearly and succinctly, explaining what God, in fact, does with our flesh and where our spirit goes when we die. This is a fundamental truth in Christianity.
Skreepy mocks it, makes a joke, implies Stormy is in some sort of fantasy cartoon!

Actually, I wasn't completely honest about that little story told by Professor Porky the Pig. Monkeys were in the audience too - they got angry and started to protest. It got out of hand and they went off to prove Toon Town wrong. Thousands of years later, still angry and disappointed, looking in the mirror, still with no apparent changes, they were still monkeys, climbing on trees and doing their thing as always. Porky was angry too, so he made up more lies about how the earth is billions of years old and little changes occurred over time. Frustrated to this very day, Porky still stutters, still tries to produce proof and Mickey and Bugs are still laughing. They were content with who they were, never thought they were anything else, thought it absurd.

Don't believe in them, the Pharm Cartel and FDA just can't persuade me to get on their drug addictive treadmill. Off topic, but just curious, how is Germany dealing with all those Syrian refugees? Are they costing a lot and wrecking havoc in your country? How many are there now?

Porky Pig never accused me of hating America, hating capitalism or dishonoring Christ. He never threatened to destroy my religion. I think I like Porky Pig better than I like you, whether he is wrong about evolution or not.

A society where people are equal, good grief... THE HORROR!
That's just it about you liberals. No one is equal. Everyone is different. Some are smart, some aren't, some are educated with high degrees and skills, others aren't. Talents are given to some and others don't have any. There are different roles and purposes in life. There are men who work for the sanitation dept. as well as janitors -- they are needed. Professors and rocket scientists are needed. They are not equal in abilities, how much they produce, intelligence, attitude, character, how much money they make. Some are presidents of companies and some a lowly workers. As humans, God values each and every one and shows no favorites because He equipped them with all those abilities or with few abilities to do what needs to be done. In a capitalistic society, some progress and others fail, not everyone gets a the same equal piece of the pie.
In God's eyes, he loves the janitor or rocket scientist equally. But as far as humanity goes, if everyone is different, how can they be equal? We have equal rights. We need to not think of ourselves as better than anyone else regardless of our gifts, talents, education, etc., because everyone serves a purpose -- except for those who don't care to serve one. So, there are rich and there are poor -- it will never be equal.
I'm not even sure it would be equal when Paradise is reborn. Some will sit on thrones and because of their service during their lives will receive more than those who did little. That's fair. Some who took on great responsibilities will be rewarded for it. Some who were weak, but believed, will get in but maybe not have as many rewards as others.

I advice you to take a step back, perhaps take a deep breath, calm yourself down and engage in a bit of self-reflection.
I am calm and breathing. I know myself. Yes, I am insensitive and judgmental at times, lacking patience as well. I know this. I also know who made me and I know God and have a relationship with Him. You don't know who you really are, because you think you evolved from nature. You don't know your purpose in life, which is to be reconciled to God -- but maybe it's not, maybe you are a reprobate, one who never is drawn to God. Don't blame Him though.
