Col. 2: 16-17 said:
16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Hebrews 10: 1 said:
1The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.
Hebrews 4:1-11 said:
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
The Law was a shadow, Jesus is the reality. :amen:

I still get a kick out Numbers 11 when YHWH brought so many quails to eat when the Israelites were complaining that he sent a plague among them. Then He gave them the MANNA as bread. To be back there to have seen all of this. AMEN!!!!

[Rotherham] Psalm 105:37 Thus brought he them forth, with silver and gold, Nor was there, throughout his tribes, one that faltered; 38 Egypt rejoiced when they went out, For the dread of them had fallen upon them. 39 He spread out a cloud as a covering, And fire, to give light by night, 40 They asked, and he brought in the quail,--And, with the bread of the heavens, he satisfied them; [Exodus 16:12] 41 He opened the rock, and there gushed forth waters, They flowed along, through parched places, as a river; 42 For he remembered his holy word, With Abraham his servant. 43 Thus brought he forth his people with gladness,--With shouts of triumph, his chosen ones; 44 And gave them, the lands of the nations, And, of the toil of the peoples, took they possession: 45 In order that they might observe his statutes, And, over his laws, might keep watch, Praise ye Yah.

Why didnt you address the scripture (Isaiah 30)? In it you find how to saved. How a people would come along that will NOT hear the law of the Lord. The Holy One of Israel is mentioned. So no one can claim its pre Jesus.

uhmmm what does a Prophecy about and to Israel have to do with the Church or Christians? :confused:

Rev. 21:9-12
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. [10] And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, [11] Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; [12] And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

So i guess the above scripture means nothing to you either? Its obviously written to the 12 tribes. Do you really think there will be no gentiles in the Kingdom? So are there ANY scriptures we can look into thats written only for the gentiles?

And the test was before Mount Sinai, like they were suppose to know the laws before they were sent booming over the loud speaker at Mount Sinai. Remember Moiunt Sinai is chapter 20 of Exodus.. but in Chapter 16 there is an incident over sabbath keeping...

27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. 28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

JOHN 10 [14] I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. [15] As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. [16] And OTHER SHEEP I HAVE, WHICH ARE NOT OF THIS FOLD: THEM ALSO I MUST BRING, and THEY SHALL HEAR MY VOICE; and there shall be ONE FOLD, and ONE SHEPHERD.

Who are these other sheep. Where will HE bring them?

I suppose youve been taught by the "many" that the sabbath was the shadow of Christ. You wont find that anywhere in the written Word.

COL.2 [14] BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;[15] And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.[16] Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:[17] WHICH ARE A SHADOW OF THINGS TO COME; BUT THE BODY IS OF CHRIST.

The laws of the ordinances are the shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

HEBREWS 9 [1] Then verily THE FIRST COVENANT HAD ALSO ORDINANCES of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. [9] Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;[10] WHICH STOOD ONLY IN MEATS AND DRINKS, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.[12] Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

The first covenant had also ordinances of divine service which STOOD ONLY in sacrifice offerings (meats and drinks), and carnal ordinances such as circumcision which were abolished in Christ.

HEBREWS 10 [1] FOR THE LAW HAVING A SHADOW of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with THOSE SACRIFICES WHICH THEY OFFERED year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.[2] For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.[3] But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.[4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Hebrews 8 [3] For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. [4] For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: [5] Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

It was the law contained in the ordinances, which stood only in meat an drink offerings, which were the shadow of Christ. The sacrifices.

NUMBERS 28 [9] And ON THE SABBATH day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a MEAT OFFERING, mingled with oil, and the DRINK OFFERING thereof: [10] This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

In this scripture you can see the shadow of Christ. The meat and drink offerings of the sabbath. The sabbath was not the shadow of Christ. It was (according to the scriptures) the meat and drink offerings. The laws contained within the ordinances.

1 COR.5 [7] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even CHRIST OUR PASSOVER is sacrificed for us: [8] THEREFORE LET US KEEP THE FEAST, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

We are to still keep Gods feast days (Holydays) and His sabbaths as the new testament commands us to. Only now, Christ is our passover sacrifice for sin. No more burnt offerings. No more meat offerings. No more drink offerings. And even the laws of the feast of unleavened bread have been fulfilled in Christ.

John 6:55
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

Hmmm I think you should keep the Sabbath. You seem convinced and it would be wrong for you to go against your conscience and that's fine. The Church is big enough for both those who observe and those who don't. On the other hand I don't see it at all. In fact even some of the Scriptures you quoted seem to say what I believe. :sorry:
tulc(and they also speak about how you're supposed to treat the people who disagree with you about the Sabbath) ;)

Btw, what was the maximum walking distance a Judean could walk on the Sabbath? Wouldn't they be breaking the Sabbath if they fleed furthur than that ordained on the Sabbath? Will have to look into that. Peace.

Matt 24:19 "Woe yet to those in belly having and to those suckling in those the days! 20 Be ye praying yet that no may be becoming the flight of ye of winter neither a Sabbath."

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Jesus Christ at his death nailed the handwriting of ordinances to the cross. What are the handwriting of ordinances? How can you understand these verses if you don't know what the handwriting of ordinances are. Handwriting or ordinances or ordinances written by hand. Not so hard to get an starting idea of what it is. All of the things spoken about in verse 16 were apart of these ordinances written by hand, and actually the hand of Moses. I explained how they are contained in the handwriting of ordinances in post #229. I will show again the link with the handwriting of ordinances and the law Hebrews speaks about.

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
Heb 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
Heb 9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

progress.gif
This was a law which ordered sacrifices and ordinances. Different to the 10 commandments written by God. Many sabbath days like the day of atonement and the special sabbaths during feast such as the feast of unleaven bread where special meat and drink offerings were made, were apart of the handwriting of ordinances. The 7th day Sabbath was not apart of those ordinances for the Sabbath was made long before these ordinances existed and the Sabbath is contained in the 10 commandments.

Not against his conscience but against the bible. Notice he never said i think or my mind tells me. He shows it straight from the bible.
