The Ten Commandments says for one: Thou shall not steal. Your position is that I will not be Judge by the said command. What dose that mean if not that I can not be Judge for stealing? Explain to us all!
Not if what you present was in context and agreement with the rest of the Scripture. You are pitting Scripture against itself causing others problems in evangelizing the lost. In short you are standing in the way of sinners believing and coming to a saving knowledge of Jesus. The pagan is justified by your confused gospel. If it is true that all the texts I gave in my answer to the question - are to be tossed out the window -- then your post is correct ... that would be a problem.
in Christ,
Bob
So sorry you can not accept grace and decided to be ruled by the law not given to you.here is the understanding we have come to in my family.
when God told all the jews to prepare themselves then to "come up" the mountain they refused. so he created the law.. which they didn't like either. and made lots of laws to shirt those laws..
Now our only option if we want to use his name, and not in vain...
is to do the law completely or prepare ourselves and " come up " the mountain when he calls us .
how he will judge how prepared we are is kind of like those 10 virgins.. it wasn't 5 hookers and 5 virgins.. it was 5 and 5 who thought they had prepared.. so be prepared..
of those prepared and ready to GO UP and or ready to do what he tells us to do , when he tells us too.. because we know the trumpet call and His voice are ready and are obedient. and not afraid to deal with him face to face. which those who were still in their minds were slaves of Pharoah were unwilling to meet him face to face and unwilling to prepare themselves.
what judges us ...
we judge ourselves.
well we condemn ourselves by what owns us.
of our works everything goes through the fire and all things hay wood and stubble , just everything of man's vanity and mankind values burns up ..
because really what is true ?
everything that God believes .
what is a lie, everything man believes that isn't what God believes. if we are in pursuits of our own vain imagination. it is for nothing it is just stubble.
yes the law is to judge 'christians' and " jews " (maybe islam so I don't even consider them that way.., but maybe he does for judgement , because that is how we are to judge the fruit of peoples lives too to see if it is him or man vanity ) and anyone pretending to use his name for their own purposes.... or thus those who use his name in vain by applying his name to their own golden calves.
and our deeds that are judged by fire .. it will look like the allegory of the talents . 10, 5 and 1.
(sorry guys my internet is all messed up so I won't be responding for a few weeks .. I will check this then.)
Is it that simple? How many men say they love their wives and still commit adultery? How many Christians say they love God and their brothers and sisters and still commit evils against them? Did not Peter love Jesus and yet he denied Him thrice. So in the Judgment they will not be Judged by love? I speak not in the case of Peter who would have had forgiveness. The gospels tell us that we ought to be content with what we have and to love our enemies, one does not steal from one's beloved. Have you not read these things in the gospels?
Then judgment has no real value. Why not party hearty?
Some teach that come judgement day christians will stand before the ten commandments and be required to answer for every transgression. These teachers even have icons depicting the last judgement with huge tablets of stone and the numerals of the ten commandments prominently displayed on the tablets.
That teaching is not true.
What rest are you talking about? You mean rest from sins committed or the Sabbath? What is the big deal Elder? You simply void the law with an superficial I'm sorry and go on your merry way. Seems to me what you really say is you superficially repent and are still judged about the matter. This is evidence you are not forgiven or have avoided the law. OTH those promoting straight up grace have that rest Israel could not have. You do not have that rest either.
Why does the person in the hypothetical picture you've provided have to be a Christian? Is there proof that this picture provided is showing a Christian standing before the Christ of God, or does it depict a lost man?
The Christian will be judged for the things done in his body to receive what is due (2 Corinthians 5:10). The law served to show us we all fall sort and are all sinners. It's done its judging in that sense here, and shows that all are sinners.
Do you think this fellow loved God? He certainly "loved" the child. According to posts here all that is needed is love. This man can not be Judge by God's Holy law as has been reported here, so by what standard would he be Judged? In our area a christian pastor just got thrown in jail for child molestation .
I wonder what kind of preaching he did on how christian can't sin..
I bet he believe he is forgiven.
I guarantee it won't do him much good..
Jesus said exactly what happens to these who harm children , especially preachers.
I suspect this Guy believes he is sinless also because his denomination believes in OSAS .
might I suggest there isn't a special enough prayer for this. the poor kids.
In Christ we don't sin. In Christ... not apart from Christ. Any trying we would do, would fail. Only in Christ can we be purified and holy.
We have to rest all our faith in HIM, in HIS finished and perfected work, in order to be blameless before God.
It is possible only through faith in Christ Jesus. Not through the law itself.
" In Christ we don't sin"
In our area a christian pastor just got thrown in jail for child molestation( at least 20+ counts) .
I wonder what kind of preaching he did on the issues of if a christian can sin or not ..
I bet he believe he is forgiven even before he did all that to those kids .
I guarantee it won't do him much good..

Those poor kids !
pray for their healing guys!
you better believe christians can sin and will be judged either by our fruit or the law.
He won't be mocked we will reap what we sow!
Yes, I understand this, yet in Christ we still do sin -- 1 John 1:8; Romans 7:18 &c.
Could be because that church teaches such and the art work is property of that church. Seems a reasonable conclusion to me.Yes, I understand this, yet in Christ we still do sin -- 1 John 1:8; Romans 7:18 &c.
My point was why the OP assumed the person in the picture being judged 'by the law' was a Christian.
in the mean time this preacher was teaching a false doctrines of probably a light a cheap fluffy love... a lie to his congregation! maybe even lies which says christians can't sin.. and are forgiven before they sin even.."Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
In order to not sin, we must be crucified with Christ. Paul speaks of it, it is called the baptism of death.
Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection
Could be because that church teaches such and the art work is property of that church. Seems a reasonable conclusion to me.
