Christian Wicca

Has anybody heard of the Christian Wicca movement? These Wiccans believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, but still do spells and celebrate the Sabbats. So for those of you who oppose Wicca...what do you say to dissmiss them as evil? Just wondering, sorry if i sound rude or something.

Superstition of all kinds can dismissed as immature thinking because it is a reaction against revealed truth. It is evil to the extent that it leads people down false paths away from the light that only truth can provide.

Thats the most contradictory thing Ive ever heard. You cant be both Christian and another Religion at the same time, since that contradicts against what being a christian really is. Heres an example where you can't be both a Christian and Wiccan.

"19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I say, if someone wants to be a christian wiccan they have every right to...its called freedom of religion!

Didn't witchcraft originally translate as "poisoner" or something though?

Actually, it is the NT version that it means poisoner, which implies actual poison or magical philters to enthral or enchant.

I'm glad that they are so interested in the Christian faith, although they have wandered into the Manicheanism heresy than Christianity.

Wicca and Christianity simply are too separate to be together in the way "Christian" Wiccans do today. Is there a way? I'd have to do some research into it, but suffice to say now, I have no clue.

YOU CANT BE BOTH. How can someone be a christian wicca. I mean comon, christianity speaks against it for crying out loud. And to be christian, you have to accept only Jesus and no other religion. Its like saying your atheist and theist at the same time, it makes no sense. Arg!

Most Christian wiccans do not hold the same views as orthodox christianity......that si why they can be wiccan and christian at the same time....some christianwiccans are primarily wiccan but work with christian saints and angels and Jesus and Mary as there Deities.

well I do admit i do not remeber the hebrew words but i will find the different versions of the bible that shoe both the translations. Apparently I was mistaken it does not mean poisoner but "lieth with a beast"

The Bible does not hold truth to me. And I personally believe in religious freedom and if soem,one wants to believe in something regardless of whether you agree they will and can believe in it.

Well, in Creamy's defence, I don't think he's argueing against allowing ppl to have the right to be Christian-Wiccans, he just argueing against it for the seemingly theological contradictions.

true...though i am not a christian wiccan so im not to sure what the dynamics are of there beliefs. But my point was obviosly there view of what a christianis or can be is differentb than crispys so theydont see it as being contradictory....only a christian who believes witchcraft is evil would think it is contradictory.....that is the point i was trying to make. How they see they will see it regardless of how another sees it.

And what about the God and the Godess of Wicca? The beliefs of Wiccans are so vastly different then those taught by Christianity I have no idea how the two could be combined.

Orthodox Christianity and orthodox Wicca are incompatible. A more orthodox position of Christianity is something called Christian mysticism. Not exactly the most orthodox position, but it is more orthodox than Christian Wicca.
