Has anybody heard of the Christian Wicca movement? These Wiccans believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, but still do spells and celebrate the Sabbats. So for those of you who oppose Wicca...what do you say to dissmiss them as evil? Just wondering, sorry if i sound rude or something.
Mark 3:28 Most certainly I tell you, all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme;
Mark 3:29 but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"
Mark 3:30 Jesus said this because the scribes had said that he had an evil spirit.

Isa 14:11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy lyres: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thy heart, "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the hights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High."

Isa 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isa 14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that shook kingdoms:
Isa 14:17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed its cities; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Matthew 7:6
"Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you."

Christians do not engage in witchcraft, it is forbidden by the Most High. If you have done this, repent immediately.

I think she doesn't mean literally disappeared; I believe she's referring to the period of Jesus' life not discussed in the Bible, between his childhood and the last year of his life.

at first, I though she meant he disappeared after his death and resurrection (which some people believe). Then I realized she could have been talking about before his ministry.

Hey~

Hitokiri Shadow, I was referring to the period in Jesus' life between the age of 12 (at the Temple when his parents "lost" him) & 30, when he was killed. There is no account of what happened to him during those 18 years within the Bible.

Nb_Christseeker, for the gazillionth time, WICCA IS NOT SYNONYMOUS WITH WITCHCRAFT. Wicca is a religion. Witchcraft is a practice. Not all Wiccans use witchcraft, and by no means whatsoever are all practicioners of witchcraft Wiccan. Incidentally, your beef would be with Christian WITCHES (and yes, they exist), not Christian Wiccans.

Well, though their may be translation errors or not, after researching through translations, I have concluded that
And is that what Christianity is about? People reading the Bible and taking their own conclusions?

brother and sister have a vague enouph meaning where it can be either a real brother or sister, or someone who is a related through family (cousin) or it can just mean close friend. With such a vague translation meaning, all I can say is, I cannot conclude whether or not Jesus truely didnt have biological brothers and sisters or not. So I guess its all up to what you choose to believe. Either of us could be right as far as I know by reading the translations.
And I suppose you are fine with that? With guessing your faith?

And for you saying the bible isnt 100% reliable because some may not belong in the bible?
I never said that.
I said that you have no basis on which to accept the Biblical canon as it is, because you reject Sacred Tradition.
Where in the Bible is there the list of inspired books (and don't you say it's in the index ;) )

I only use the bible as the foundation for whatever I learn about God and Christianity.
Where in the Bible does it tell you to use only the Bible?

Oh, I'm not saying that there aren't Christian Wiccans, there very definitely are. I was just pointing out to the Seeker fella that Wicca doesn't equal witchcraft, as he seemed to believe. There are Christian Wiccans, Christian Witches, & Christopagans. All of which have every right to believe & reach out to God in the ways they see fit.

They, very dishonestly, may call themselves Christian, to make it seem their belief and that of the group traditionally known as Christian are one.
However, they are completely out of Christianity (traditional sense), and are just using a name to pretend they are what they aren't.

1. Making my own conclusions? Look I was researching on what exactly the bible was saying about something that had nothing to do with Jesus' teaching, I was merely trying to see if Jesus had biological brothers. Such things as those are insugnifigant to what our faith should be about, and it was so vague I just concluded that it was unreliable to accept either as 100% truth, untill I found more evidence supporting one belief on it, though it doesnt matter what you believe about that. Whether or not I know if Jesus had biological brothers and sisters doesnt affect my faith in Jesus Christ as my saviour, so no im not "guessing" my faith.

I dont need a Sacred Tradition, I need Gods word in the Holy Bible. Tell me where in the bible there is a "Sacred tradition" I must put my faith in or believe. Look God said the scripture is inspired by God, so obviously he wouldnt allow the scripture to change and for his statement to be falsified. Remember, Jesus fulfilled the prophecy in which not one letter in the Torah was changed untill Jesus came. Where in the bible does it say to use anything besides the bible?

The Sacred Tradition is nothing but the teachings of the Apostles, the preaching they did with their voices which was then carried on by the Church father to son fashion. It even includes which books belong in the Bible. At the time of the reformation some people have lost their trust in the hierachy of the Church and rejected the Tradition as a result.

"So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter" (2 Thess. 2:15).

I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you" (1 Cor. 11:2)

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is living in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us" (2 Thess. 3:6).

To make sure that the apostolic tradition would be passed down after the deaths of the apostles, Paul told Timothy, "[W]hat you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Tim. 2:2). In this passage he refers to the first four generations of apostolic succession—his own generation, Timothy’s generation, the generation Timothy will teach, and the generation they in turn will teach.

That's just a little of the whole iceberg my friend, Sacred Tradition was givin to the Catholic Church by the apostles.

Dear crybabyblue

I see nothing evil in wicca, even though I have to confess as it is a mostly american movement I only know about it through the net. That said they are not in the fullness of the Truth; translation I disagree with them.

I feel they are missing a point. Christianity is not about accepting Jesus like when you join up a club, but to accept Jesus means to put your trust completely and only in Him. They are putting they their trust in that spells too.

Hope that helps.
