Sports is an excellent tool for outreach to the community. It is a universal language that often breaks down many different types of barriers like caste, creed color, religion etc etc . Sports creates a fun, shared experience, enabling you to build the type of relationships with people that open the door for ongoing ministry.

In these Gen Y days ( from year 1980-2000 ) more students are becoming engineers and doctors- Such students do not have time to listen to Word of God- Because these professional are hard working and trying to maintain latest Good Governance standards at their work place-
Sports gives recreation and relaxation for people who are tried of work and for who are bored or who feel left by their own people or local community-

Day by Day people are workaholic and becoming materialistic- Everyday it is becoming harder to get understand people's mood and attract them to Word of God

Sports Evangelism provides an alternative way for traditional Christian Evangelism activities to draw the attention of our youth in ways the traditional evangelism could not be able attract youth for Christ-
Sharing the Word of God in our communities is a much needed issue that has not been dealt in the past in ways that can attract the Christian and non-Christians alike
Amen

Not sure I ever heard of the term "sports evangelism" before. But am familiar with a couple of ex pro wrestlers who turned preacher after their careers in the ring were over. Nikita Koloff, "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Tully Blanchard, Lex Lugar, and former world champion Nikolai Koloff all turned to the pulpit after their fighting days. Unfortunately, only Nikolai Koloff still enjoys a good reputation as the others have been accused of snobbery or high brow self righteousness by some critics.

Perhaps the OP can tell us more and give specific examples of practitioners of Sports Evangelism so that this thread can be developed more fully.

Not sure what you are saying here.

Are you saying those Christians that are well known athletes, should use their celebrity in sports to evangelize Christianity?
