OK - raging hard-on = gawker pervert; limp **** = normal nudist. Got it.
I believe that was a construct of the Wesleyan Holiness movement of the late 1800s and into the 20th century.
Should we be afraid of nudism, or is it something beautiful and natural and something to share and not hide as long as people accept it?
Ain't gonna happen. I would be the one with the obvious erection. If you don't believe it, go see for yourself
I grew up with it in sunday school in the early 60s - Church of the Nazarene. It was when I started looking it up a couple of years ago that I realized it went back to the 1800s.I just heard this view of the glory as Adam and Eve's covering a few years ago, so I thought it was fairly new. Thanks for the info that its origins goes back further into history.
Not much difference there except for the gifts of the Spirit.I attended a Nazarene church for 10 yrs. Back to an AG church now.
Disapproval with an eloquence beyond what I am capable of relaying or even imagining. What do you think God's response would be?
Sadly, that doesn't stop a lot of people from showing off. If it happens with certain outfits in the mall, it can happen on a nude beach. Most nudists aren't even particularly good looking. They don't have much to show off.
But this can be achieved with frocks, habits, or uniforms. I don't see what benefit nudity has in this context.Where I differ is the idea that "unnecessary" nudity is a source of boastful pride, and that it serves no useful purpose.
For most people, nudity is a state of ultimate humility and unpretentiousness, which is one reason it makes social interaction easier, especially between strangers. It's part of our shared humanity, and emphasizes what we have in common, rather than what sets us apart. Clothes have historically distinguished the wealthy and powerful people from the commoners, and have reflected one's rank and social standing in society. We see this today in "label envy" which prices worn-out jeans at $200 or more in fashonable stores, while new $10 jeans at Wal-Mart are looked down on.
It's a layer of protection against small foreign objects going into your butt crack. I would think that this extra layer would have health benefits for women as well. In terms of modesty, the less you can get away with showing off, the better. So if a swimsuit is functional and not fancy, that to me wins the modesty competition. What is more unnecessary than a swimsuit? Swimming nude is much more enjoyable and efficient. A nude person dries off quickly after leaving the water, while a swimsuit keeps its wearer wet and cold, dripping everywhere. Clothes make hot humid weather a miserable experience; it's no coincidence that nudism is most popular in the southern states near the Gulf.
I have a hard time believing this cannot be accomplished with clothes on. Besides, if you've got it and if you hide it, I would think less people will try to flatter you for having it.Other than supermodels, athletes, and bodybuilders, people rarely feel boastful pride about their bodies; the opposite is usually true, especially for women who feel totally inadequate if they are larger than size 3. When they see groups of other typical women (who are larger than size 3), they relax and begin to appreciate their inherent beauty (this was my wife's experience).
This may be strange to most people, but I would almost always rather be completely nude, especially in nature. I'm 27 and I've been somewhat of a closet nudist for the last 10 years of my life. Theres nothing sexual about it for me, it just makes me feel happy and free. I'm never naked in front of anyone who is offended by it. It's usually just my wife and close friends who aren't bothered by nudity.
Indeed, people twist scriptures to follow their own iniquitous desires. Rather than considering others, self indulgence is the goal. Sad.Today most people do not agree with GOD.
Guess you misinterpreted what I saidHow is dressing up an iniquitous desire?
People twisting the bible to suit their wickedness? Since when is Genesis 3 verse 11 twisted to suit a wickedness?Indeed, people twist scriptures to follow their own iniquitous desires. Rather than considering others, self indulgence is the goal. Sad.
Well, I've said my piece. Toodles.
