HTTPS is slower by 0.1 seconds compared to HTTP.

I think that is well within reasonable levels considering the benefits, both to end users and to us as owners.

Yup. 100ms is negligible. Besides, my pages are still loading like lightning anyway.

For what it is worth, we do very well now with International visitors. The below is from Czech Republic. They aren't exactly know for their robust internet structure yet we send our first byte to them in just over half a second. All the way around the other side of the world. Our server is located in Montreal for reference.

We spend a lot of money every month making sure that not only the US gets to access Christian Forums quickly but also that the rest of the world has access to our site so that Christians everywhere can find a safe place to discuss their views and find answers.

For comparison, this is the same request for Google.com:

One question, could CF webpage files (images, CSS) be cached in the browser?

They are for 1 month after the first load. On top of that they are served by CloudFlare on the first load from the nearest datacenter near you.

Are they not being cached by your browser? I can confirm in Chrome and Firefox that images and CSS are being cached with a time of 1 month.
