Hello everyone,

Next week, Christian Forums will be going secure. What does this mean for you? This means that every time you log in to the website, load the page, make a post or pretty much interact with Christian Forums, you will be doing so with 100% encryption.

You may notice on some websites that there is a green block next to the url. This means that your site is using encryption to keep your data secure and out of the hands of malicious users.

You won't need to do anything different on your end. Next week when you log in to your account, the only difference you will see is a nice green secure icon next to our URL. :)

If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to ask!

I oppose this plan.

It means I couldn't use Opera Turbo for webpage compression.
I live in a corrupted country whose its internet service is limited but expensive.
If this policy is eventually applied, so I would visit this site rarer & rarer.

My suggestion is to use HTTPS protocol in payment-related webpages ONLY.

A lot has changed in a year and a half since that was written. HTTP/2 is now standard across all major browsers and today when we moved to our new server we implemented RailGun technology from CloudFlare. (See here: Railgun™ | Cloudflare)

I can assure you you will not notice much if any difference once we move to HTTPS from now.

Too bad, by requiring HTTPS, HTTP/2 doesn't give us freedom of choice to us like HTTP/1.x.

Whatever. The big internet players dictate the standard although it faces many criticism. Tyrannical.

HTTP/2 is faster that HTTP/1.1. I'm not sure why anyone would want to use a slower insecure connection.

Anyone is free to continue using http/1.1. We choose not to. That isn't Tyrannical lol

I mean the CF user couldn't use HTTP anymore in HTTP/2.

I still prefer HTTP/1.1 because through it, I could access CF through HTTP protocol which the data could be compressed by Opera Turbo server and there is no sensitive/private data in CF (except in payment page, if it exists) to be "secured".

Regarding HTTP/2 itself, I admit HTTP/2 offers come (highly technical) advantages over HTTP/1.1, but in practice I doubt the average user is even going to notice.

We already compress the data. Even when encrypted we compress it. So you won't see any difference when we switch.
