In the mirror, or just through the window?
I'm not the one out to war with modernity and pluralism.

In the mirror, or just through the window?
We appear to be heading to a dead end here. What a surprise.....nobody has changed anybody's mind.
It all boils down to this....do you believe the Bible or not?....and we are divided into these two groups. That hasn't changed throughout all modern history and won't change with this thread.
I side with the Bible.
I feel sorry for those who don't and I also feel sorry for judgemental people who don't think they're judgemental. Sure I'll admit I'm judgemental. If people weren't judgemental we would have anarchy....no judges, juries or laws. But my judgements are based on Biblical principles.
You folks who don't like Christianity can base it on man's ever changing politically correct whims if you want but I choose a never changing Rock.
Do you think homosexual acts are sins and if not how do you interpret all the places in the Bible that claim they are?Everyone participating in this thread is Christian. I think we all side with the Bible. However the Bible does not address this topic.
.
So the right thing to do would have been making the cake and then telling them why homosexuality is wrong? After all, he has freedom of speech and they were physically standing on his property.I take seriously Paul's injunction "if it be at all possible, live in peace with all men". Or Jesus' own words, to not refuse an evil man, and to go the extra mile if asked. That is what love looks like; that is what is truly biblical.
On the other hand, to have a perverse satisfaction and self-righteousness at not serving particular kinds of sinners, doesn't seem to me to be particularly loving.

Should it be illegal for the baker to give one? They were there for a cake, not a sermon.
Apparently not worth answering since Galaxy Hunter has left the thread. I would note that homosexuals are indeed sinners. I would also note that heterosexuals are also sinners. Is being a sinner a reason to not bake a cake for someone? I don't think so. The fact is that if this baker only baked cakes for non-sinners he would be making any cakes.Do you think homosexual acts are sins and if not how do you interpret all the places in the Bible that claim they are?
It is discrimination and a violation of the law, just as what happened here is discrimination and a violation of the law.
It is discrimination only in the sense of what a person feels is morally or ethically okay to do in the matter of participating in an event and choosing not to participate in that event. Any law that would force a person to do that is a tyrannical and evil law.
It isn't a case of the government forcing you to do something, it is a matter of not discriminating against someone. There are some cases where you can do it--a bar, for example, cannot legally serve someone who is visibly intoxicated. That is a matter of public safety. A gun shop can't sell to someone who fails a background check for the same reason, public safety.
Should a business owner be allowed to refuse to sell "sexy underthings" to an interracial couple because the owner thinks that blacks and whites shouldn't be together?
That is false. Phillips testified under oath that there was no discussion about decoration much less personalization. Philips refused to serve the couple when he identified them as gay. It was later claimed that Philips offered generic cake parts to the couple but he admitted during testimony that such as offer was not made until later

I really get sick of answering the same question in different forms over and over. The answer is still no.Should they be forced to keep size XXXXL in stock just in
case a 400 pound person wants to wear them?
