All of us had not even sat down at the table when one of the ladies started in on another one who wasn't there. Dollie, a widow, is about to remarry next week and this lady just thought it was the stupidest thing that she had ever heard of.
And most of the others just chimed right in. I tried to gently and humorously remind them of what we had just heard. But I could tell it was falling on deaf ears. Then they started to make plans for where they were going to meet next time. Apparently this is to be a weekly get together. Oh my! I think I have some leftovers at home
. ;) [/QUOTE]

I went to the wedding today, an afternoon affair. :) The bride looked very happy, although tired, the groom more subdued and serious, tired also. She's a local. He's from Ohio. It was a lovely ceremony. They are off to tour Europe on their honeymoon. She's been widowed twice before, him, I'm not sure about. They're in their seventies. Their adult children and families were there and sang the special music, all obviously talented and happy for their parents. The flower girl was mischevious. :D The bride wore a white knee length suit with a waist length veil. It was fun to go and watch and I wish them all God's best.
p.s. The lady who so strongly critized Dollie wasn't there. :)

Hi Scooter,

That is so nice that you are considering adopting this dog it sounds like the owner is neglecting him if he is tied up and dirty. Husky's have very thick fur and if he is matted you might want to consider taking him in to be groomed and then after that you could keep him up yourself. They are high energy dogs so he would need exercise but it sounds like your boys could take care of that. As for being an outdoor dog yes the husky is bred for the cold but they get use to the climate where they live just like we do so in the extreme cold and snow I would recommend a garage with blankets should do it, you would not have to put him in the house then if that is a concern. Just warms my heart when someone gives a neglected dog or cat love and attention.:)

PS If he seems crazy with energy that is from being tethered. High evergy dogs need to run and play everyday or all that pent up energy makes them appear crazy. Just like kids! I guess you would understand that part.;)

Got up at 6 this morning and walked then I mowed the front lawn with the weed eater because the mower won't start. It's a small lawn but still is not easy to do with a weedeater. I then washed an outside chair with a solution of water, bleach and detergent so later I can prime it to be painted. My other paint project is on hold because I can't get the bolts off but I will think of something eventually meanwhile I can get this chair done. I had 2 cookies and a cup of coffee for breakfast and I feel very guilty but they were good.:holy: I think I will read now for awhile and have another cup of coffee--- without the cookies.

My goodness you all must have something to do today. It is 7 PM and I got a coat of primer on my chair now I have to pick a color, that's the hard part. I have already been to Lowes once and could not make up my mind, I will try again soon because I would like to complete at least one project in a decent time frame. I have several unfinished projects sitting around. Well, that's a depressing thought.......

Went to lunch with some of the older single ladies from our new church. I wished later that I hadn't. :(
We had just heard this wonderful sermon on how God has a special and specific design for each of us. Since we really don't know all the ins and outs of what He is doing in the lives of others, we need to basically butt out of their private business. I came away thinking, "Pastor you are right on target". Most of us have been the victim of someone judging us for things that was totally unfair, and honestly most of us have been guilty of doing it ourselves. We don't know what God is doing in their lives, so our job is to love them, pray for them, and trust that God will be working in them to bring about His purpose for them as a part of His plan.

All of us had not even sat down at the table when one of the ladies started in on another one who wasn't there. Dollie, a widow, is about to remarry next week and this lady just thought it was the stupidest thing that she had ever heard of.

I am much more encouraged by my fine feathered Eagle friends here. My hat is off to all of you for such fine feathers. :) You are one special bunch.

I have been out with folks who want to roast someone for lunch. Left-overs at home always taste better to me too. I know that feelin...:(

Anyway, it sure is nice what you said above about taking off your hat to all of us with such fine feathers...and I agree this is a fine feathered flock. Well, what are eagles for? Anyway, thanks, Prom. You are sweet and soooo encouraging.  :) your fine feathered >>birdfriend.

It's hard to keep the bunch chatting, Keep. they must have lives or something.
The dog really wasn't neglected. The owners took her back, for present. My boys weed to first get part-time jobs and really think about the financial and other responsibilities of having a dog.

I finally saw the hand surgeon. I don't have carpel tunnel after all. My tendons are swollen and pressing on nerves. It's always been said that cerebral palsy isn't progressive, but indirectly, it is. The unnatural movements catch up with one's body after a while, I suppose.

I'm glad to hear the dog is not neglected but sorry to hear the news about your hands. I hope there is something that can help. Bless you Scootermom

Well, I haven't read either one. Mandy is reading the one about waffles and spaghetti. She says she wants to learn a lot of these kinds of things before she gets into a relationship.

This book says that men are like waffles because they think in blocks of time, only one subjeat matter at a time. Also they can have blocks of time when they actually aren't thinking about anything.

I can't imagine that, since I am like spaghetti, and I'm always thinking about something. Women are like spaghetti because we can think about lots of things at the same time, and somehow we always seem to connect them. That is why men sometimes look at women with such confusion and say things like, "Now what does this have to do with that".
The ability to think about things collectively is why we are generally good at multi-tasking. We are quite capable of cooking dinner with a baby on our hip while talking on the phone, and answering the door. Of course now that we are older that is not the things we often would connect anymore. It's more like talking on the phone to a friend who is going through some traumatic crisis, while we are shopping at WalMart, looking through cents off coupons, and comparing prices. :D

I'm sure that the book gives us lots of advice on how to have a happy marriage in spite (or maybe because of) our differencews.

I've got a simple answer though. I think men should just wise up and get with the program. ;) :D

I knew some guy who said I flit from one subject to the next and he can't keep up. I thought there was something wrong with me. But now I know I'm just a healthly helping of spaghetti. :D

I love spaghetti!

By the way, have you noticed how easy it is for us to get off the subject on our thread topics here?
I think I just figured out why nearly all the men have left! :D We've been acting like spaghetti on Golden Eagles. :D
