and good afternoon, dear Eagles. My apologies for not being around as much as I'd like. We've been very busy here with many chores that we've put off as long as we could, but spring is on its way and much needs to be done. Unfortunately we don't move as fast as we probably should, so its going to take quite some time to finish what we need to accomplish. We're both counting the days until vacation near the end of April, so that's some incentive to keep us chugging along. 
My precious husband reallllllllly needs a week of r & r, so I'm asking the Lord to give us a nice restful and peaceful week. Hubby and I went to a nearly deserted island last year and we walked for miles, had no one nearby for miles and we simply read loads of great books, caught up on some much needed rest and enjoyed the beauty of the sea and sand. Since we live in a mountainous area this was quite a great change and I don't think we've ever enjoyed the solitude, peace and quiet so much. We're going back this year and praying for the same experience.
This is a little island off the coast of North Carolina that was devastated about 10 years ago by a horrible hurricane. Many of the buildings, homes, condos, etc. were destroyed and since so much of the island was eaten by the sea, a lot of places were never rebuilt. We go before the real vacation season begins, so we nearly have the place to ourselves. The weather is moderate this time of year, so we need a jacket in the evening and early mornings, but we're not much for just sizzling like bacon on the beach, so its perfect for us. We rent a condo that faces the sea and last year when we were there at the end of April, there were only two other couples in the entire place. It was fabulous. We're very quiet people and don't enjoy the big crowds and noise, etc. on big beaches.
