I would take it to the Vet. You never know since it is a stray. You said you were going to have it fixed, if the cat is healthy you can probably wait and get it fixed, get shots, and a checkup all at once. I used to work for a Vet, better be safe than sorry.scootermom said:My keyboard had to be replaced, but I'm back now. I'm getting tired now, tho. Been catching up on e-mails, but wanted to check in, as I'm pretty sure hub will monopolize the computer tomorrow.
Happy birthday, Migs.
How far did Keep move? Maybe she's just not hooked up to the internet yet.
Can anybody tell me if you take a stray cat indoors and it seems healthy, do you really need to take it to the vet? We've become quiite attached to a little kitten who showed up about ten days ago. The boys feed and love on it, but let it roam. Living in town, I know outdoor cats aren't safe or welcome. Of course, it would need to be fixed. We'd need it something to scratch on.
I swore I'd never have another indoor pet, but this kitten is soooo cute, very sweet. Red tabby. My son wonder if shots are necessary.
scootermom said:My son, Nate is sitting in the back room with the kitten on his lap. He puts him out at night or when it starts walking around. We've got to call the humane society to see about a voucher for neutering. I won't let him stay inside until he's fixed. Then get him to the vet.
scootermom said:Keep, thanks. He's grown in just the two weeks we've had him. How can you tell their age? My son guessed about four months old. He acts so much like the orange tabby we had before. Very affectionate. Our previous one ruined a couch, even tho' he was nuetered, so we returned him to the shelter.
But, we had 2 other cats; maybe that's why. If this one wets, I can't replace another couch so I'm a bit nervous.
The female cats only wet on the dirty laundry, which was bad enough. They both had more complicated health problems than we were prepared to handle. I guess you could say we've had bad luck with cats.
Goodness, he's having the hardest time choosing a name. I call him Cat for now. Our other cats were Dolly, Smokey and Milo. I suggested Milo2, but he said no.

Happy Birthday Migs! How did you celebrate? Scooter the kitten sounds so sweet and I can relate to not being able to resist that little face, I'm glad you adopted her or him.
It is getting colder here now also. We were so blessed with good weather while moving. The new house is nice but lots of things need to be done, just getting the curtains and blinds bought and up has been a real job and I am still not done. I had to hurry and get some plants re-planted correctly before the cold weather set in and it looks like I just made it, autumn has arrived. It is time to cook hot chili, stew, soups and homemade bread. Yum

That's so cute NJ.njsisterinChrist said:I know it was kind of funny.
Our cat we have now is a female and her name is Spike. When she was a kitten she looked liked a bull dog puppy(walked with those little bulldog legs and had a mean little face) and we thought she was a he. OOPS!
