  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's pleasant to hear from fellow pet-lovers. We had a nice rain yesterday morning with thunder and lightning. Our little Shih Tzu Hank almost jumped through his skin on one of the big claps of thunder. Our little Bichon Lucy doesn't like inclement weather either. She doesn't even want to get her feet wet and gets very clingy when mother nature gets loud. It's really kind of funny, but we try to comfort them when they're scared.

By the way, we've now had enough rain this season to almost guarantee the farmers and ranchers a good year. They made plenty of hay, so they don't have to buy as much feed. The stock ponds are filling back up, so the water hauling is over for now. I almost forgot to mention that early crops are great. In short, we give thanks to God for His provisions.

Good to hear that Tom :)
We are just coming out of a drought situation with our snowless winter.
My MIL's shih Tzu Benji that we cared for, was petrified of thunder and would hide in the bathroon; Penny is fearless ^_^

Did you enjoy dinner out with your Mother?

Hi
I am back from the bridal shower; it was a lot of fun!
Not the traditional lunch, more like icecream parlor/candy shop/pastry treats....so much for diets and diabetics

She is a sweetheart and got a lot of nice things.
Praying their wedding day is beautiful like today was, with comfortable temps and blue skies

I am exhausted because I was up since 5:30 am, hadn't really had a lunch, and only had a small taste of goodies, just to keep my blood sugar up
Time for a nice supper, and R&R with hubby and Penny

Hope you all had a nice Sunday ~ God bless :crossrc:

Hello Sister Gail,

We had a wonderful time with my mother. She is the only living parent for my wife and I, so my wife also considers her as mother. Mother loves to talk and she's almost non-stop. She's also one of those people with a wonderful memory, so we get to hear all kinds of stories from long ago about various family members. She loves a chain of restaurants called Crackerbarrel, and we just happen to have one here. My wife and I also like it, so it's the perfect place to go. They are known for old fashioned Southern cooking. Mother has a ball every time we go out, so we try to go out together pretty often.

Hi Tom  How wonderful for you all ~ treasures those special moments!
Jim's mom didn't know him last week, and we can no longer safely bring her out to be with us (mobility, choking etc). :(
Crackerbarrel is great  We tried it back in 1998 when we visited a dear friend in Georgia.
I am happy for you all ~ God bless

Just got back from a lovely LONG walk with Hubby and Penny; we will relax this afternoon :)
It is gorgeous outside, and even BUGLESS amazingly
This week will bring beneficial rain, so I will be using the treadmill and getting cleaning done in storage areas.

Praying you have a good check up Shirley

Happy Monday everyone

My appt went well...I have be seeing this dr for maybe 10 years...he understands all my sensitivity problems, we did draw more blood for some extra tests...it just seems to me like like I am too tired...even for me...LOL.

My legs needs a break, so no walking today for Gracie and I...I hope you get that rain...we could use more too over here.

I would like to lose 6 pounds...I am going to really think about what I eat and portion size...my regular diet is pretty good the way it is...just think the rice and beans from our Mexican restaurant may be cut out.

Glad to hear it went well, and hoping you get some answers re: your fatigue.

The higher carb foods can add up; I limit those servings and watch portions daily.
Plus eating out there is so much sodium in the food; you can add a few pounds of fluid on just eating out!

The rain is coming the next few days and they said to expect 1-2 inches, so that will help!

Have a restful evening

You are so right about that salt thing...we have been enjoying a lot of Mexican food...I think it is high in sodium...I have decided to cut way back on that kind of food...and no cheese...I eat small amounts of cheese, but really should not have any dairy period.

I will enjoy that rain with you...how wonderful!!!!!

I'm happy to hear all the good news from Dr.'s physicals. It's ironic this subject came up, since I just had mine a few days ago. Overall, my doctor was pretty happy. I also need to lose a few pounds and they sure are hard to lose. I would have been much happier if the doctor told me to gain a few pounds. ;)

You just rarely hear about a doctor telling you that you MUST put on a few pounds or run the risk that you might have to put rocks in your pocket to keep from being blown away in a breeze. :D

I was up at 4 am today...but still do not feel very awake...I may take the day off and not walk Gracie, and do household chores instead...seems I cannot do both in the same day any more.
It is getting hot here anyway and she gets too hot very fast.

I hear you...loosing weight must be a battle fought in the mind first, then the will...then goes to the mouth.

I just don't feel good at this weight, could be age, but I think weight is a big factor.
