  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thank you.
I hope that I will see my mom again. But I need to face the fact that she was not born again and I am not sure where she was in her walk with the Lord when she passed away.

 I too have lost people I love dearly. I don't think we are ever completely reconciled, but I do know this, we will see them again someday. God is so good. Who knows everything He has in store for us, who love Him, who He calls His own?

We are so blessed.

Thank you.
I hope that I will see my mom again.
But I need to face the fact that she was not born again
and I am not sure where she was in her walk with the Lord
when she passed away.

Young Lady

We are here in FAITH

Our parents raised us to be that which we have become
They led us to and through 'certain ways'
that laid the foundations of, our personality [?]

There are for sure CHRISTIANS
that never learned of the bible [?]
and for sure, they will have been saved
by our Lord's merciful grace

Our Lord, has the power to raise the dead
and to give them life-everlasting

My Mom didn't attend church either,
but, she had a heart of gold for all and she made sure
that my three siblings and I attended Sunday School

So, it is, in faith, that I believe
that she was saved for her good works
and her christian-ways

I know that the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. I also believe that in His mercy He does reveal Himself to many. It says in Romans 10:13 that "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." It may well be that your mom did call on His name.

I have relatives as well whose salvation I was not sure of. In one case, the Lord sent me a dream. In the other He spoke into my spirit one day and showed me something I will never forget. I know they are with Him. He is so good.

Today I am a little sad and reflective. It was 4 years ago today that my mom passed away and it is still a little hard to think that she isn't here. But the Lord has helped me get past the hardest part of my grief.
... I rejoice with you that the Lord has seen you through the
hard times. My prayers are with you, Dear One.

I had an hour with Mozilla Firefox earlier

I went through the setup again
'bookmarks' -'security' -'tabs' installed the flash-player 'update'
I chose UK MSN for my homepage
and then, the trouble started ...
MSN wanted to set cookies, which I allowed
then in came '
c.msn-news********' and wanted to alter cookie
which I denied
it came up again and I denied it again
and tried to close the cookie request window
but it would not close
I persisted to deny the cookie changes to what appeared now
to be a spoofed version of the msn site
it refused time after time to be denied
I tried to close the mozilla browser itself
but it was 'locked' to the desktop

I gave up ..... I pressed ctrl+alt+del
brought up the Windows Task Manager
and clicked to 'end task' on it

I then, uninstalled Mozilla Firefox
as a RISK to my PC
for, my lack of authority over it's functions

I won't be trying it out again

Dave you are so right.
I know how she raised me, but I also know that she never understood why I had a need to be as she put it rebaptized. She didn't understand song service and when I would try to explain she got a little lets just say testy :)
When we were young we went to church and she never stopped us from going to other churches with friends.

I guess I just wish that I knew for sure. I want so bad to know that she will be there enjoying eternity with the Lord like we all will be.

I guess I need to pray about that part of my faith and to see if the Lord can at least help me find the peace that I am looking for.

You sir are a very good friend, and I appreciate your kind words.

I said to my husband today that I can't know for sure about my mom, but I also don't know that she didn't talk with God as she was leaving this earth. He told me to try to focus on that and to think that maybe some of our faith rubbed off and she made her peace with Him.
It is so nice to know that there are people who understand how I feel. Some people just take it for granted that is where everyone goes.

Thank you so much.
It was rough the 1st year or two, but the Lord has eased the pain to a place that I call comfortable. That may sound strange, but at least I can now talk about her, and laugh at so many of the memories and that is a really great blessing for me.

I wasn't happy about installing it either, but the girls need to use to for the schools web site to send reports. They no longer have you print them and hand them in. They must all be sent in and the schools web site doesn't seem to like IE.
Firefox does crazy things to the computer, so now I limit them to sending what they have to send and then switching back to IE for everything else. I hope over summer vacation they fix whatever the problem is so I can delete it from my computer too.

IE has had many updates
IE 7 is the latest version [beta 8.1]

It can for sure access open source sites
and those sites
are able to read IE created messages

I am gonna 'stick' with the 'TRIED AND TESTED'

I have a rhetorical question for you

What if, you didnt have a computer at home ?
or, didnt have an internet connection ?

Not 'everybody' has them you know

Yes! what if
your kids couldnt do this stuff ONLINE
would their coursework be 'predjudiced' ?

I think not!

When the 'medium' chosen,
is, dodgy /insecure /unreliable /potentially destructive/
COSTLY ?
Well you wouldnt play games
with a hungry lion would you ?
nor, put your head in it's mouth ?

I would treat the browser
with the respect and caution that it plainly deserves
I would recommend it to no-one

How are you Ariel? Did you have a nice day? Have you heard of a place called Paradise Tx? My brother has a farm there and my husband and I along with KittyStorm92 (my daughter) and her husband and my grandson will be going there for a visit. I'm looking forward to the trip.

 Good morning, Eagles!! We'll be getting some electrical rewiring done here today and then we'll have to start packing up and shutting down the cottage for a bit so we can travel back to Virginia for doctor appointments, business matters, etc. that await back home. I'm very :( at having to leave the coast, but also looking forward to being home for a few days. We plan to come back here after a few days as we'd like to spend the remainder of May and part of June here near the beach. We've made many friends here and look forward to our return.

WE asked that very question at PTA meetings and what we got as an answer was the children can go to the town library and use the free internet on the computers.
We have stated that the wait time is very long to use the computers.
This was the first year to do it this way and I think that it has failed the test. I am hoping that they go back to the old way of handing in reports. Thank goodness they don't have to do all their homework that way, I would need two computers 1 for each girl.

I like the sound of that.
I wouldn't mind if I could tell everyone that I was living in Paradise.
When are you leaving? I hope that you have a wonderful time. It is nice to spend time with family that we don't see too often.
