Enjoying all the variety of comments in this thread. Guess what???? It is snowing again. LOL.
We were hoping after his birthday pizza dinner to take our son out to hear his favourite band play. They do oldies. With the snow we may have to postpone to another Wednesday night. The drummer of this group has been so thoughtful toward our son who has a disablility, but I don't want to risk getting stuck. Jan

It's the kind of day where you find a warm sunny spot in the yard and just stand there taking it all in.
Sometimes I wish we could have snowy winters, but then most times, I guess I'm glad we don't.
Be safe no matter what your weather is, and have a good day!

Good morning everyone!

Jan, I'm sorry to hear you got snowed in. I hope your son's birthday went well in spite of that--it sounded fun!

Hello, dear Claire! Yes, let's soak up the sun today! :) The weather here has been so erratic--who knows what will come next?

SavedSis--how nice to have you with us. I enjoy your posts so much!

Amadeus--it sounds like you will need to bundle up.

And Dave--lol, brother, you got me laughing!

My husband came home last night with a tidbit he had heard on a radio talk show. Its seems some researchers found that when you smile, endorphins are released in your brain which make you feel happier. Apparently, even if you force the smile the endorphins are still released. Of course, I immediately quipped, "Grrr, see me smile?" But you know, I did feel better. LOL.

Let's smile today :) CHEESE!!!! :) :) :)

Hi there, past 10pm here, a bit tired and layed up, I opened the door and ...in flu.. enza, now Enza is a pest,

Dave that laugh unlocked some of the 2I donot feel good" buttons, I'm off downstairs to see hubby, he will wonder what all the laughing is, I am supposed to be bedded! Wow, maybe a Giggle should be included on the medicine lists!

I'll take a smiley and a hug with me, Sniff!!

Rich blessings left on coffee table, help yourself!! God bless you

Actually we did go. Not much of a crowd but son had a great time. He even got to sing with the band. He did the song Yesterday by the Beatles and did a very good job. He said This is my best birthday ever. Gotta run now to music practise. Jan

LOL Jean, I am so-pleased to share
some, of, the many joys
that my Mary shares with me
Indeed, it is one of, the many reasons I had
for, wanting to come here to Manchester

It is my sincere wish, that, every DECENT GUY
gets himself an angel, like-mine  ^_^

Good People,
APPRECIATE the 'goodness'
that our Lord presents to us
This, 'match' is, heaven-sent

I agree, Jean, Enza is a real pest and not welcome here at all.

A lot of people in my city are sick. I have been counseling my teens to wash their hands as soon as they get home from school, and to take garlic supplements.

I haven't had a cold or flu for several years now, maybe about nine years. I'm hoping that continues!

But if you are sick, I believe that what helps the most is rest and plenty of fluids. I make chicken soup from scratch, and have heard this has been proven to help colds. Also, garlic helps. It is a natural anti-viral, anti-bacterial agent.

When I was a kid, we had an Austrian doctor who also advised carrots, especially cooked carrots. Apparently they help combat viruses.

I hope you get to feeling better soon!

It is amazing to go so many years without catching one of those nasty enzas.

Yes, it is amazing! I really can't remember the last time I had a cold or flu. I just know that in 1999 I changed my life in several ways. I began working out on a regular basis. I lost weight. I started taking supplements. I also became a lot more careful in how many sweets I ate. I started eating a lot more fruit and veggies and whole grains, and a lot less junk.

Something I've done has made a difference, because I used to be sick a lot...

That is great Ariel I took your advice and have started eating more garlic and using supplements for the aches. I have read that Chicken soup is antiviral and decongestant and works better than other soups. I suppose of course any hot steamy soup should loosen the secretions. I had carrot/cashew/ginger soup for lunch with Whole grain bread YUMMM I especially like the gingery tang. Jan
