Hiyah keep' Sis'

:wave::wave::wave::wave:

Welcome Back Sis'..... I had a very fitful
[disturbed] sleep last night
It was a hot and stuffy night
I came downstairs and stood at the backdoor step
to cool-off
I even put the small 8" fan on for a while
just, to move the air in the bedroom
I then beat up my pillows
because they 'threatened' to make my neck ache
'what a night...it really was such a night'

I hope your thumb is recovering well now

dave

We should have had a chat ;)
The dog kept me up all night :o ^_^

Was it whining or what? Sorry you had a baad night with it. Can you take a nap?
NO... he has me going all day and night and it is killing my thyroid and adrenals.
I have gotten no rest of any kind all week.
Even my asthma is flaring...I am totally exhausted as I mentioned in the other thread.
He is a lap dog (we found out he is actually 11 years old; so has ingrained habits) who had the run of her house, was fed only people food, and is not appreciating our limitations (one was... stay OFF the bed)
So he paces, and whines and wakes me up... and is at my feet 27/7 :o
BUT....he is suddenly showing signs of adjusting as we tweak our approach with him and make some compromises
He is a sweet dog and very smart!

LOL... Teddy has 'done' a spraying of our bed > twice < since he joined us
on the first occasion, we arrived-home from the shopping-precinct
to find the 'gate' had been pulled-away from the bottom of the staircase
further investigation revealed he had jumped up and wet the duvet
[it hadn't (yet) soaked through the cover]
Laundered ... no-problem

On the second occasion, we returned home to see the gate in similar position
and a winter duvet was soiled and ruined... [too big for the washer]
so we cut away the soiled area and divided it between the dogs for mattresses

We now, bolt the gate at the top of the stairs
when we go out.... enough is, ENOUGH !!!!

Thanks for sharing the video of the mom with her baby dave. Very inspirational.
I do miss having my doggies but I must admit when they are behaving badly it can be quite a drain. Shiloh declined in old age and started peeing in the house but up till then was very good. Buffy when we first got her at around 2 1/2 from my MIL had a load of bad habits. She had been catered to so never learned to "ask" to go out to pee. She also stole food jumped up didn't get along with our other dog. It was a turf war. They had known each other but never had to live together before. They eventually got it sorted out and for the most part were great companions. I think buffy was really lonely after shiloh died. She only lasted a little more than a year after that. Jan

Oh my Dave....that is hard when they destroy things!
Thankfully Benji does NOT do that (so far).... though he pees on my flower pots and foundation of the house if I don't catch him....instead of going into the grass :p
My mother-in-law used to have him do his business in her BATHTUB if she was in bed or out doing errands :o
Thank God he has not tried that; though Jim said it would be better than on our new carpeting throughout the house ^_^

We never had trouble with ourEnglish Springer Spaniel Nikki; she was a devoted companion to me in my illnesses, and could even be trusted around the tiniest babies.
She just loved them and had to lie close and would round them up in their walkers like lassie :D
I grieved after I lost her in 2001; 13 years leaves a lot of loving memories!

Before Benji came I lived in silence and SOLITUDE ;) with my canary, and single siamese beta fish....boy is my life changed :sorry: but it will be good in the end

Well...you know, I love dogs...miss them in the house, but there are compensations...when I clean...things stay clean LOL.

I could handle all the bad habits when I was younger...it would be a lot harder now to cope with...yet I miss something alive...warm & fuzzy.

My feelings exactly ;)
I now have no choice about the 'warm and fuzzy' :p

I understand...we took my mother's cat...when my Mom passed away...we finally had to put that cat down...it just was a terrible house cat...yet it would not live outside either...it was hard...

Awww; that's sad :(
We heard today that his mom is doing better and insisting she can go home;of course she wants the dog back
Who knows how often this will happen until we get full custody
At least we are working all the kinks out ^_^

That is me done on GE 50+

I have ensured, that enough of you KNOW
'why' it is, that I have no-alternative, other-than, to move-on

my 'eye-teeth' keep playing-me-up,
whenever 'Ms. Righteous' rehashes my posts
and makes claims of my flaming her and making personal attacks against her

I will now, follow a number of, past friends and leave GE50+
and CF to those, that wish to control the opinion of others

I wont hammer on
there being no-point, to doing so
I am content
that I am unable to change things for the better
and am unable to accept the treatment my messages receive
from another, who does so with impunity / support from staff

PTL... I was not, led to renew my site-supporter status, here
