• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

But you have 'some....time' left

before that arrives

'time-enough' to.....
LET IT 'GROW' on-YOU 'gradually'

There IS
no need to panic.....
after all,

you are simply 'coming of age'

there is no denying, that, we have BEEN HERE A WHILE :)

learning, comparing, deciding and loving

go calmly about your years
for 'they' are 'gifted' to you
only the ONCE
with time to prepare...... to, fulfill His plans

for His,
is both the Way and the Light
to follow
as best we can
and from where we are

 'The Lord's Prayer'

I have become much more assertive in my advancing years. Just ask my hubby lol. :)
I know I need to learn to relax more completely and delegate more and that is tough for me to do. I have a large household to care for and I don't mind 95% of the time but I have huge energy dips that get me down, my sons do not seem to jump in and help like they should. They are still acting like children and need constant prodding which is very wearing. Jan

Yes I don't think the games just relate to a Golden Eagles Crowd and could be played in any other forum but there are definitely age related issues that GE'ers should be able to address here. I do play games but the ones I play the most aren't here anyway. Jan

I left this on another complaint thread

There has to be 'a workaround'
BY CONCENSUS surely ?

Yes I am sorry if, I have given others
'uncomfortable feelings'

This (GE 50+) is:
"an open forums" & "not, a church"
it has been said

Now, these forums are required (by some)
to be restricted,
in-form... controlling fellowship between members
and to do so, within strict definitions

I wont go into politics (at-all)
but would.... urge, all concerned
in 'such moves'
to achieve any-changes to GE 50+
thru'/ via/ from, a concensus of membership

I abhor 'bullying' of, all kinds
and, are we not ALL OF US 'grown-ups' now ?

First,
changes proposed and then enacted
to CF generally....
caused christians to fear
that atheists will ruin their refuge/ club

DIDN'T HAPPEN !

From here out
I now, see
Discension re: Forum Topics
becoming kindled by 'a few' members

I pray, that these 'few' dont forget
that we (all of us)
love from the heart
and that
narrowmindedness is simply a step to fanaticism

The, so-called; "GAMES" are misdescribed
they, encourage
use of, dictionaries
provide 'spelling' examples
bring people together
'without pressure'

Perhaps, the FEW will be happier
could they have a few more 'stickys' for the subject matter
that 'they' feel,
is "more relevant to GE50+"

I am a believer, in
'IF, ITS NOT BROKEN then DONT TRY TO FIX IT'

'change' isnt always for the best!

Am now, going to put away my spade
this 'hole' is getting a bit deep

I just HOPE, that the few, acknowledge the views of others also

It forces me to go back a page or so and find the posts that are near and dear to me and comment or BUMP so that it is once again at the top of the list. I still do feel that there should be a limit on the number of games though am I being disvisive and Stickies are tricky as presently there is only one sticky that is used very often. I don't think new posters are fully able to go back and find threads relavent and may not yet know how to post a new thread. (I didn't at first) I am a complete middle child I believe in balance and concensus and yes compromise. Jan

This is a glorious autumn day in Ontario. The sun is out, the air is crisp and the trees are in mid turn of colour and fading green.

It reminds me of the Christian life. Full of all things good and change. If we don't change, we stagnate. If we don't change, we don't grow. At the same time, He remains the same yesterday, to-day and forever.

Have a good day.

Cheers,

Jim

Just because a person is past 50 doesn't mean he's past having a good time in this life.

God made everything good primarily for man's benefit. He wants man to serve Him, but since He made us He knows what we need. We need Him first, but our flesh, although corrupted, is still a part of us. Our flesh needs to be nourished with natural food and drink iand other things n order to survive.

As God's stewards, it is our job to feed our bodies properly. Our minds like our bodies need to be exercised and not only in 'serious' matters. When we grew past a certain point physically, we put away childish type games and toys, but most of us take on more mature games and 'toys'. These activities, I believe, can be just as important to our bodies well being as food and drink.

We could put them in another forum, but that might well put some people in that forum where they would never even bother to even look at what happening anywhere else. There is alot a talk about getting people involved in important things, but will it help to segregate the ones most motivated by one thing from the ones that simply want to relax and have fun?

Everyone wants their own pet interests on the front burner, but isn't that a somewhat selfish attitude?
