• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
 • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes, you did ^_^ you reported *me* your "friend".

OK - but this time, I am asking LOTS of posts to be Deleted,
starting with these 2-threads, here - #11

Please help get this done.

THANKS! Annie
I am curious Annie have they decided to split GE into two sections or is it just a suggestion. I admit your post kind of confused me till I clicked the #11 in your post. Alas I am not very savvy in the different ways hyperlinks can be added and used in common posts. Jan

That sounds like a perfectly delightful way to spend the day dave. I am glad it was a joyous occaision. I am sure mommy will have gs bank some of his windfall. I always did that with my kids. The weather today has been dryish but cloudy and no direct sun. I think tomorrow and Friday will be better. Jan

What a beautiful day it is here to-day. The sun is out, the air is crisp and refreshing, and just delightful to be about.

Cheers,

Jim

The days is Oklahoma have been especially beautiful this year. We had extremely rainy Spring followed by one of the mildest summers I can ever recall. Now in Autumn, we have had a bit more than our usual amount of rain and some of the most pleasant days a person could ask for. God is blessing us. If only more people would realize it and give Him the glory!

Hi Jan
I discovered that accidentally one day, trying to figger out how other people do that; so
I type the 1st-number in the Up-left part of a Sent-post I want to Reference - in this case * #11*
(without the Date-Time stamp, I added at first) - and voila, it worked!
oh, it's called a hyperlink? - Learn something new every day ;)

I am curious Annie have they decided to split GE into two sections or is it just a suggestion.
I know not.

All I know, (as I said there) - is that the only-reason I started that Wiki there, was for giving Jim & interested other people, further options for *what they want*, re: GAMES. ~
As I have no interest - AND I haven't seen "ge"ers further that discussion, Constructively -
Please help get this Wiki deleted. THANKS!

Annie

Just received:

Subject: Fw: Where He Ain't

He was just a little boy,
On a week's first day.
He was wandering home from Sunday school,
And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the filler.

A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up high.....
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn,
Asked him where he'd been that day,
And what was going on.

"I've been to bible school,"
He said... and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
"I've learned a lot about God."

"M'm very fine way," the neighbor said,
"for a boy to spend his time."
If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime."

Quick as a flash the answer came!
Not a word of his was faint.
"I'll give you a dollar mister,
If you can tell me where God ain't."

I still don't know what a wiki is, or how it divides from a thread. On games, I think I contributed to one once. They don't even amuse me.

I like to read of life experiences, gospel witness and tales in the walk of Jesus.....not self-inflating tales, but genuine tales that demonostrate the power of God in our lives.

Cheers.

Jim

It is seldom enough that we get what we want in this veil of flesh or in God's kingdom. It seems more important to seek His will rather than our own. You are not amused by games, but perhaps God has used or is using them for His own purposes. He used Pharaoh for His purposes as He used Nebuchadnezzar and as He used the Assyrians. He used Balaam's donkey to let the prophet know what His will was.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:33

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil 4:11

I had a lovely 'afternoon' out, with Mary today

The afternoon was part of a week long program
sponsored by the local council FOR THE OVER 50's

We, were given Minibus transport from a 'pickup point'
[nearby] and with others were taken to
St Bonifaces recreation hall [it has a 'bar']
to listen to a gentleman called PAUL DEAN
a Singer and Comic
He sang songs from the 40's and 50's
and in the break we listened to another gentleman
who, showed us pictures on a large screen
of old time music halls here in Manchester now, gone!
during Paul Dean's 'break'

It was a lovely afternoon and the SHOW
took place between 2pm and 4pm
when we were then, shuttled back to the pickup-point
to, walk back home

I have been a little uncomfortable since my return
having spent almost two hours sat on an ungiving seat
but it plainly made, for, an interesting break
away from home for the many [some 200 persons]
that attended

 for the council

Hey man you sound like you are retired? That sounds like a great trip sorry for the stiff joints. I can't sit long either.
Maybe one day I too shall do some day trips around our fair city. I am not sure I would attend some of the overnight ones as they usually are to gamble which is not my thing at all. May years ago at a very small church I attended the pastor and I used our 15 seater day care van and picked up seniors around our neighborhood. Many were in boarding situations with not much in the way of activity for them. We would go for a drive and stop for tea. It was lovely. I even remember trips to North Vancouver for ice cream very near where only a few years later hubby and I purchased our first home. Jan

Hey man you sound like you are retired?

LOL dya think ?

With hindsight...
I even felt a bit like that with all the fussing
"HERE, let me help you "
"Are you alright with that ?/ are you having fun ? "

no matter, I was there with Mary,
and she knew all the old songs
where, I hadnt heard some at-all before
ais: we were doing this together
(different! but 'together')

I awoke, just before 10.30 this morning
and as I was stood on the back doorstep
having a cigarette (!) and examining the trees nearby
viz: reddening/ yellowing leaves (Autumn/Fall ?)
I saw a Robin on a branch of one of them
I called Mary to show her..
but by the time she arrived at the back door
it had flown into bushes below the tree

soon, I imagine there will be wintry scenes
(to enjoy ?)

Yes, it was a lovely couple of hours
ie: somewhere-else TOGETHER
a RARE-OCCURENCE by all-accounts and MAYBE,
was, just a one-off for our area (we'll see !!)

Upon our return from our 'outing'
I used the strimmer on the front lawn
and this morning...
my HEALING-WOUND is complaining PROBABLY
re: that exertion
So today,
I WONT be doing the back lawn /hillside after-all

I am loathe to be treated as an invalid
to be waited-on hand foot and finger
to be nursed and fussed-on
and talked to as one might to a young child
who, has harmed themselves thoughtlessly

:shame:

no matter! the inconvenience is temporary
healing will have it's moment someday soon
I will, be waiting for it though
a bit-like: a horse in the stalls awaiting the 'off'
(chomping at the bit) lol

Songfest...now I would love that.

Strange how you never forget the words to so many songs.

I would love to do Karaoke with friends. I had the gift to do that once. Then there was the time family asked me to play monopoly and they made the mistake of turning on the radio and giving me a glass of wine (it was a small glass ). The radio was playing oldies and I could not stop singing along. Good thing my family loved me for monopoly is a very long game. teeeheee
