I want to pay tribute to one of the greatest singers of this or any generation, who died early this morning from pancreatic cancer; Luciano Pavarotti.

I cherish the memory of his singing in many genres. He was at home singing with his colleagues and he was at home singing with Bryan Adams. What a vocal genius.

by way of, explanation

On my way to CF
I experienced a great many DOS attacks
[Denial Of Service]
where, my then, 'vulnerable' SETTINGS
enabled a 'friend' to 'upload' some scripts
to my browser which permitted him/ her
to ALTER MY SETTINGS
and effectively DENY ME INTERNET ACCESS
including, the destruction of three IDE Drives
by overwriting the 'zero-sectors'

I have learned... to keep friends 'close'
and....
to learn from the abilities/ capablities of,
those-others...
of, less-friendly persuasion/ intent

I AM, happy that anti-virus/ firewall
will defend my system straightaway
however, it will take some while longer
to turn off the numerous 'warning pop-ups'
now, being experienced...
as a result, of, my having requested to be-informed
of any and all 'risks'
as and when they are detected/ occur

I acknowledge, that "Simple, is Easiest"
however,
Faith.... is confirmed with experience
and I am unable, to build my foundations upon sand
nor, afford
to-replace extensive investment in both
processor speed and external memory
for me, internet access,
is a career aspiration and not, JUST a hobby/ pastime

X the letter of unknown quantity; Spurt, a drip under pressure. Hence, an expert, an unknown drip under pressure. I always got a chuckle out of that wacky definition.

When the computer becomes more of a headache than a pleasure, that is the day I will go back to typing letters and using the postal services.

A magnificent voice is silenced forever...how sad. I saw him live in St.Louis some 20 years ago. Awe inspiring.

We are getting a taste of things to come already..It is cold these mornings,,,,with a high of only 22c to-day. Love this global warming! lol. Almost time to hang up the short trousers and get the snow blower tuned up and ready to roll.

We are finally getting our summer here. It is even not so cold in the evenings although around 9 a bit chilly without a sweater. Of course I am back to work all day but at least some of the time I am outside with my student enjoying PE class in the sunshine. Cheers and have a great day. Jan

Holy Cow! Canada gets cold early! It's in the high 80's here everyday, sometimes 90, then add in the humidity ---and it's hot! (North Carolina).
