  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ah, but I am not wicked.
And I do serve the Lord. I do not serve you or your tyrannical and misleading words. And you, my friend, are the one who will have to answer for your judgmental lashings!

But I've had my say on the subject. And I do not wish to support your propaganda here so I will resume the kind and gentle manner that is more often than not displayed in this forum by some very pleasant people who are loving and respectful and who should not be subjected to this sort of posting, so I will refrain from any further comment about you.

(and my sincere apologies if I have offended any of those loving folks mentioned above by my remarks to this.)

Good Morning Fellow Golden Eagles!

I am listening to a gorgeous song right now as I type called "Holy is the Lord". It is an uplifting song, it helps put things into proper perspective. I have grown to think of each one of you as my Christian friends and some I consider family. In this world we live today, we all need a place we can come to and feel safe and loved. Some of us are not blessed to be able to go to church due to various reasons and look to places like this to find fellowship. One of the things I enjoy about this place is that we come from all over this big world that the Lord created. Some of us reflect the country we grew up in or currently live. We all speak with an accent to others. We are kind of a melting pot only with one very special common denominator: our Lord Jesus Christ. We all have gifts the Lord gave us. It is delightful seeing those gifts being used. There have been many times I have wanted to say something, encourage someone who has been chastised for something said recently or long ago, but have been fearful of being chastised myself for saying something. I'm writing now just because I care about you all so much and just want things to be peaceful between all of us. I truly believe when one hurts, we all hurt. I think most of us believe this.

Anyway, I wish you all a very blessed and restful weekend!
Cindy

Psa 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
I can't think of any better way to express what is in my heart but to let Jesus do it with His words. It is a long read but worth it. Blessings Jan

Mat 5:1AND seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him.
Mat 5:2Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:

Mat 5:3"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:4Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Mat 5:6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
Mat 5:7Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
Mat 5:8Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Mat 5:9Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
Mat 5:10Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:11"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
Mat 5:12"Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Mat 5:13"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
Mat 5:14"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Mat 5:15"Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Mat 5:16"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Mat 5:17"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
Mat 5:18"For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Mat 5:19"Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20"For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:21"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.'
Mat 5:22"But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.
Mat 5:23"Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,
Mat 5:24"leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
Mat 5:25"Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
Mat 5:26"Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.
Mat 5:27"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.'
Mat 5:28"But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Mat 5:29"If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Mat 5:30"And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Mat 5:31"Furthermore it has been said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.'
Mat 5:32"But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.
Mat 5:33"Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.'
Mat 5:34"But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne;
Mat 5:35"nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Mat 5:36"Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
Mat 5:37"But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
Mat 5:38"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.'
Mat 5:39"But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.
Mat 5:40"If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also.
Mat 5:41"And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.
Mat 5:42"Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.
Mat 5:43"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
Mat 5:44"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,[
Mat 5:45"that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46"For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
Mat 5:47"And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?
Mat 5:48"Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Seeing a hummingbird is a sign of good fortune coming to a war torn country! I think my brother made that up when he went to Iraq and we were all having a get together before he left. He was standing there and this beautiful little hummingbird came right up to his face, as if to say, "Where do you think you're going, soldier?"
We were all crying because he was leaving so I think he made up that little white lie to comfort us.
He came back from Iraq safe and sound, by the way. :)

End of another day here. Thanks Mommysue and Grace for seriously uplifting words today.

This i write of my days focus:

I have a great trust in God's care for me.
I have God, I need nothing;
God alone is enough.
Seek to impress not your fellow man,
none but God alone.

Never look to be loved.
Look to be holy.
Don't look to be popular.
Look to be righteous.
Endeavor not to fit in,
but seek to emulate Christ.

Act justly, love mercy,
and walk humbly with God.

What a blessing you are to me, Spring! Thank you for that lovely prayer!

Claire and Cindy, what a comfort you are!

Jan, thank you for reminding us of God's Word.

We went out to a nearby lake this afternoon to meet our church group. What a lovely day it was!

When I was very ill, I used to get myself to sleep by thinking about all the wonderful things that had happened that day. A kind word from a friend. A bird in my garden. A lovely sunset. A hug from a child. These were my "bouquet" I would gather in my heart at the end of the day, savoring each lovely memory.

Thank you all, for being part of my "bouquet" tonight. I treasure your love and friendship. Thank you.

Ariel, that is a beautiful thought and I am so happy to be in your bouquet!
And I cherish the friendships made here, more than any of you could possibly know.
I was at a friend's house tonite, sitting in on her family reunion. The companionship was there, the food, the merriment, even my own grand daughters running in and out of folks they aren't even related to.
But there was something missing. And that was any talk of the Lord, our Saviour.
What a shame no one cared to thank the One who made it all possible. I did attempt, but it fell on deaf ears. They weren't resisting it, they just weren't being bothered with it.
God gave each and every one of us this day. And at day's end, when the blessings of the world are counted, I, too, am glad for all of you here.
For many months now, you have been my saving grace.

Claire I am glad that we can be an encouragement to you. I was always think of myself and God aa a majority, but it is nice to have the fellowship of like minded Christian friends to spur us on and remind us of God's Goodness when we lose focus. I like fellowshiping here because I can talk about God and my relationship with Him so freely. Even among my Christian friends I do sometimes find it hard to articualte exactly what I am feeling. I have always done better when I can Write it down first lol

Hope this link brings you the music and the poem.

Oh Claire, you are so right. The best topic to talk about, the very best is Jesus--His goodness, His mercy, His love, His truth.

Imagine when we get to heaven--what joy we'll have not just talking about Him, but talking to Him!

Like you, I treasure the fellowship this forum offers. It means so to be able to share the love of our Savior.
I am saddened when there are negative words. The best response, I believe, is to ignore them.

Let us continue to lift up the name of Jesus! He is so good!

Need To Grow Up

Sure do. You are a man physically, but an immature brat, Spiritually. You have to have the last insulting, ignorant word, if it's only discussing the drop of a hat.

I'm sick of your banter and one more comment from you to me, I am recommending you be banned from these forums. And yes, your last outbreak of venom was reported.

Tony

<DIV id=post_message_>I'm glad you have agreed to see the others' views. Just because you chose not to see mine or check it all out, I guess that can't be helped.

Perhaps one day when you are ready to be completely open-minded, you will have gumption to check out what Dr Hagee has to say.

The sugary words may not impress anyone now, Dave. They've already seen you turn on me just because you didn't understand. Referring to your last post. Bubbi knows you and said it right on the dollar quoting Matthew. She could see your hatred of me right off. Ya' can't fool 'em now, Dave.
