Today is a great day I said good bye to my two delightful home stay students. One from Mexico (16) and one from Brazil(21) this weekend and although I am going to enjoy the decrease in pressure to clean cook and coddle I will miss them. They were lovely young men and seemed to enjoy their time in our home. Now I gear up for a great get away with hubby for two weeks Yeah. Still a week to go and lots to do to prepare, especially getting all in place for support of my disabled son. I pray the other two sons left at home will get along.
It is very hard for the 20 year old to listen to the older bro as he (younger bro) is at the stage where he knows everything. LOL

I'm so sorry. Truly I believe that the best policy is to ignore such outbursts. To respond only gives the opportunity for more of the same.

Something Jesus said has helped me numerous times. He said out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. When people judge you, they are telling you what is in their heart. Their words say far more about themselves than they do about you.

Interestingly, it works the other way as well. Good people bring good words out of their hearts. As Spring has quoted before, "Blessed are the peacemakers."

Don't be down, my brother. I love you as a brother in the Lord, and I'm sure many others love you, too.

Good morning, Dave! Thanks for the happy greeting!

It's cool outside here in Texas in the early AM. I've opened windows and doors, hoping to cool the house down as much as possible before it's hot. My animals are sitting near me, Chaucer my cat laying on the coffee table in all his furry glory, Dante my toy poodle sprawled beside me. Both are snoozing. Such a hard life.

Looking out into my garden, I see the phlox still in full bloom, a profusion of black-eyed Susans, hollyhocks and penstemon. It is lovely . Yesterday we saw a hummingbird again, sipping from each flower. He only paused at the phlox. What's that, he seemed to say.

My husband just walked in. Time for coffee and a chat. I've been up for a while. God is so good!
