I believe that our President is a praying God fearing President . I too believe that the Lord knows the outcome and I believe there may be a reason for this that is hard for so many to understand . we should just lift our President up in prayer and our men and women in service to our country.

You're so right Jo we've already lost so many over there,so for him to make the choice he made must be gut churning for him. He was crying today when he gave that medal to that family. Have you noticed how old he's looking lately? I think it must be hard to be a practicing Christian and be in his position, but I think he was led by the Lord to do this. I have always supported him, God bless Him, and keep our troops safe!

Well Dave I don't see the cloak of evil as you do and I consider all who post on this forum my friends so don't really know what the answer might be. I guess we are all looking for different things as we share here on CF. Occaisionally I will get into a real debate forum but generally that doesn't satisfy me as ist usually just ends up going round and round in circles. WE all want to hang on to our little bit of power and truth at all costs it seems. I guess what I am looking for is friendship for the most part and a chance to share my life, "let off steam" and use others as a sounding board on occaision if need be. I do think it is right to turn away from things that cause offence and to let the love of God help us over it and of course try not to cause offense ourselves. I think it is neat that I sort of know people in England The Eastern US Eastern Canada etc. I would like to know you all better. The internet can be a real blessing that way let us try to use it as a bridge to expand our circle of friends. Jan

OBVIOUSLY repeated 'tactics'
without reference to alleged, past 'modus operandi'
responded to details on page
I what I believe was an appropriate manner

I gave suggestion, on HOW 'bothered' members
could deflate a superior ego

I read, of some moans
re: the way this page is going
not being discussions of relevance/ interest etc
and wondered if, those disappointed members
would care to initiate (start) such a conference
this, because some members
may at-first
find their preferred 'chit-chat' format being usurped

I think that 'practice, makes perfect'
and that there may be a lot of members
to whom the desired format could _seem NEW (?)

I would respond similarly were I to notice a member being shut out 'undeservedly'
am just a sentimental old softy

with 'good-intentions'

Jim, you kindly recommended a book recently: "Who Moved The Stone", well I thought you would like to know that I found a copy in a second-hand book shop in Cheltenham so I hope to be able to start reading it soon. I also got some great bargains in a Christian book shop in Bristol.

depending on the traffic Bristol is about 45 minutes drive away.

My wife found all of England greatly altered last year, but Scotland was lovely.

I know I don't recognize East London..IN fact. they don't even call it West Ham anymore..It is now Newham..or some such thing.

Maybe if I visited Plaistow now, I could come home without an accent...lol..Sheila will get that one.

Lets have some more cockney too. I didn't see much of England when i went with family 3 years ago just a few days in London and on the way back from Scotland the Lake District. I think we stayed in a place called Windermere and then flew home out of Manchester. We did spent quite a lot of time in Scotland though and felt right at home. Jan

Hi all,
Well Jim now I need a translator! Or weather is quite scary here. We had IN. of snow now that is gone and it got warm but today(Sat) by midnight we are going to bottom out int the temp department. The scary part is it is going to start out raining and then turn to ICE roads and everything. Jim remember we talked about the ice storm way back when, this is starting out the same way. Weathermen are starting to talk about it. Keep us in prayer I have a lot of traveling to do this week for my Mom and I just hope and pray winter doesn't get to bad.
