Hello everyone!
Hope you are all well. I have been sick with the flu. Today is the first day that I have been able to sit up for any length of time.

The weather here is getting really cold too. We had such warm weather for so long I guess we got spoiled. I even saw a robin and some of the flowers and trees were getting sprouts. Very strange when the temps were in the mid 60's in Jan. and then falls to the 20's.
No snow yet, but I don't think it will be too long before we do have some.

Hi Bonnie
thot everyone had given up on the Chit Chat.
Cheers. Jan
Hi Jan :)

Well, I'll post a few *today* in this "Chit-chat" sticky here :sigh:, but
I've never been one to actually enjoy that talk. Why??

I am soo buzzy in our life, with:
1. Private-home (job) Clients = 30+ years Caring for Kids :) on 'Life-support'
&
2. Iceskating-practices :tutu: every chance I get.
&
3. Building 2 of our own Businesses

that I barely have time for CF, really. And one of 2 reasons for participating in CF, is
sharing *Empowering Beliefs, & Skills*... with others Interested in so blessing their life.
Joy is great  in Honoring Jesus Christ in these ways...

Annie

I hear you, I too am battling the before Christmas cold /flu like now. cough cough cough
it sounds like a good cough now. fever only two days not bad . it was the headaches that were the real pain.
I got on the treadmill today for two 10 min. so I guess I will survive. definately a bad year for this stuff. I usually
do not get sick and it seems it hangs on and on with so many of us this yearand last year if it started in DECEMBER. ^_^

Hi all,
Ya Dave what are you ready for?
Annie "much needed life" means that we can talk about different things, and not just about our aches and pains. Different people are interested in different things. See??
NJ and JOJO sorry both of you are sick, just think in 4 mo. will be May and maybe some nice weather
Today we went to my Mom's which is about 50mi. from here. Here we have snow and the ice on the trees is so pretty. Get to my Mom's no ice or snow or winter at all. Just strange really strange. They usually have as bad or even worse winters than I do. But Fri. the snow starts here along with the bitter cold and it seems that it is going to continue through till late next week. So skiers, snowmobilers, sledders and all of those kind of souls are now happy. Glad someone likes this stuff.
Bless

i've recently found this site(tis morning)while surfing google.i find however, that just like in personal social settings of any kind i don't fit the age group per se. .i'm 52 years old .i listen to current rock bands like evanescence and the killers while the christian bands i listen to are all christian metal bands.i have no interest in southern gospel or conversations about someone building their backyard fence or laying the tile in their new kitchen.i hang with people younger than i on a daily basis.the oldest being 31,the youngest being 26'ers. i have a real problem when going to church's that seperate their bible study groups and social groups by age factor.i'm curios to know if anyone else here is in a liken situation to mine.i find that i'm considered 'odd; by others my own age, that i never became(dare i say it)old fashioned in my way of thinking and that i didn't become distant to music and media, etc, when the 80's began.(ie,that i didn't build a mental shrine to my high school days of the 70's). in fact in chat rooms other chatters always take me for being much younger. and my appearance helps as well, because i appear to be in my mid to late 30's at the oldest people guess me to be 40 and most say 35 to 37.i wish i could find other people that are my age that have always been accepting of current music, movies, and so on all of their life .it's difficult to meet others like me.most people my age don't seem to have any idea who the bans are that i listen to..and are stuck somewhere ina carol king, james taylor, eric clapton time warp..or worse.(i almost said jackson 5..ewwww).lol..

Good Morning Jan,
It was snow here in Jersey when I woke up. It looked pretty. Very glad that it was only flakes.
I think I need to make a pot of chicken soup for all of us that have been feeling under the weather. My youngest daughter Amy still has her cough from before Christmas too. What is it with the cough that makes it hang on for so long?
Have a great day.
I'll stop back later to see what's new.
Lynn

Hi and welcome. I think we are all pretty different here and everyone is accepted. I also listen to all kinds of music and do not consider myself old at all. I have four 20-30 year old sons so I am exposed to their musical tastes all the time. Techno Rap Emo etc. I like some of it but some I pass on. I have had Christian rap bands crash at my place as they come through from various locations in Canada and the US. For me it is wrong to pigeon hole taste. If you love music you will find music to love in all styles and genres. My tecno freak son loves classical. My rap hip hop performing and beat making son used to sing in a classical boys choir. My disabled son loves Bob Dylan and Heavy Metal and oldies. He is recently discovering for himself thanks to the Net, {OH JOY}THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK(now the old has beens lol) and I say great go for it. I also listen to all those bands you mentioned and love them especially James T's October Road and Carol King Tapestry but don't consider myself in any kind of time warp. I do know some of the bands popular now. Part of the problem is according to what I like I don't think there are any particularly great bands that are popular at the moment. I like some Coldplay I do love most of Sufjan Stevens and a Canadian Rapper Hip Hop artist called K-Os.
About churches you would like our church cause we are all mixed to gether age wise. That is partly due to the fact that it is a very small church congregation. Our oldest member is still a very involved and active 93 year old. Just Be yourself and that is great. Again welcome to CF. There are lots of other forums that have no age restrictions on them you can try out. Jan

For someone who doesnt enjoy ageist-philosophy
you sure mention it enough
the fewer people feel-it the-better I think

yes I too love a mix of SOUNDS
I have a numbered copy of the Beatles White Album
it has a number of biro dooles on the cover
but the twin album 33rpm is-playable
Beatles BIRTHDAY album
I also used to have the 'James Gang' ?
but the 'ex' said Funk It!

When the parrot came out
RABBITING (?) I would put phones on
and lsten to Hawkwind
Hall of the Mountain Grill & Hurry On Sundown

I didnt like PUNK at-all sorry! to me
that was simply a cacophonous-irritation
New Wave showed promise
but I dont have time to search and appreciate
well maybe I have
but probably havent had such an inclination

I do like serious reggae but NOT RAP!

otherwise, if I dont like it
I reserve the right >> not, to have-to listen

yes welcome to the nest
as, has been said already please join in take-part
and if it isnt your 'cuppa'
the site has many other forums
with "young-blood" flowing (it's reputed) I wouldnt know

I am happy to be a nestling
a nestling I will be
yes of-course am jesting
havent fallen out of my tree

well! not yet anyway!
