Ya I know!! High 40's by this weekend. Snowmobiles are still crying. Ground had to be froze before they can go out. It is already starting to melt here
Bless
B
Well they actually finally got a chance to take the sleds(snowmobiles) out. My Grandson and his Dad went out right after school and haven't been seen since. At least one good day of sledding

Is it snow you want? I was just talking with my friend in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. 180 people are trapped at the Cosco Store and they can't get home until the snowplow gets around to clearing the roads..Now that is snow!

Naw Grace, nuffin you said or anyone here..it is the forum itself. I am getting tired of the sickness and complaining and whining, and using the wrong places,,like prayer requests are supposed to go in the sticky prayer thread,,that is what it is there for. There should be some interesting threads go on down below in the main forum.

I liked the news item that Bcauser put in about the lost old woman and the housefire. That is an interesting case and I will watch for the follow up. All the games don't interest me. Sometimes I see as many as five or six names listed and nothing said anywhere............duh!

Cheers,

Jim

Maybe I am just getting old! ..false, I could never get up and down that fast.

Ok jim this is just for you!
We had our first snow day on Tues. So my grandchildren and all the neighborhood kids were in my back yard because I have a huge hill. They went down that hill all AM and started in again after lunch. All of a sudden I could hear a big truck trying to get up the hill(most people around hereknow better than do that) I waited a little while and all of a sudden it was real quite outside so I thought I better look. Well here's the kids talking to this lady with a mic. and a guy with a camera and I look up further(don't know how he got that thing up there)was this huge truck with channel 13 television. They were talking with the kids and I went up to seee what was up(told them they should have talked with adult first) and come to find out where we live,50 miles away from where the TV station was, we had SNOW!!! Having SNOW was a news story!!!! Can you believe that??
Sure enough at 6:00 there was the story and there was the pics of the kids sledding, throwing snowballs, and doing normal stuff you do with snow, but a news story!!!! Anyways the kids were excited and called alll there friends and family and we all had a good laugh at our having 14in. of snow compared to feet upon feet in other places of our country. There ya go that's all that's new in this part of the country,
Bless

If you don't have a hundred aches and pains no one wants to talk to you. And people get their feelings hurt so easily, you can't even joke around. I'm not a holy roller and don't pretend to be one. Jojo and I try to get new things started and everyone just completely ignore us so that's the way it is. Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to the wall, probably am. But that's ok everyone to their own liking the rest of us will mosey along

We had similar over here in England
probably same-year(s)

everything just coated in ice,
that got thicker and thicker 'by the hour'
no-school,
no milkman,
no shops except the off-sales
no buses
no postman
household water pipes would freeze
livestock would be found 'frozen' stood-up
and didnt dutch elm disease 'catch-on' thereafter
when trees hadnt long begun their thawing-process

oh yes and power distribution in rural areas
seemed to be the 'last' to get switched back ON

Well I don't know about that Leyton I hope not. Bonnie that was a cute story but I am not really sure what Jim is looking for. This is about the only thread in Golden Eagles I post in very often and I don't see all the problems others seem to. I don't get on very often and don't always catch up on all the posts I missed though so that could be why. Anyway I just like the Chit Chat and that is what this thread is titled so talking about weather and everyday stuff seems appropriate to me. There are other threads for posting scriptures and discussing more focused topics. This is a chance just to chat isn't it?

Well Dave I don't see the cloak of evil as you do and I consider all who post on this forum my friends so don't really know what the answer might be. I guess we are all looking for different things as we share here on CF. Occaisionally I will get into a real debate forum but generally that doesn't satisfy me as ist usually just ends up going round and round in circles. WE all want to hang on to our little bit of power and truth at all costs it seems. I guess what I am looking for is friendship for the most part and a chance to share my life, "let off steam" and use others as a sounding board on occaision if need be. I do think it is right to turn away from things that cause offence and to let the love of God help us over it and of course try not to cause offense ourselves. I think it is neat that I sort of know people in England The Eastern US Eastern Canada etc. I would like to know you all better. The internet can be a real blessing that way let us try to use it as a bridge to expand our circle of friends. Jan

This story was all over the news tonight. The little town that this young man is from is only about 30 miles from here and have met his parents through church. I knew he was killed in action but didn't know the whole story until tonight. Read with pride and thank the Lord this is the kind of men and women we have trying to keep us free.

The nation's highest military honor was awarded posthumously today to Corporal Jason Dunham, a Marine from Scio, New York.

Click here to send Cpl. Dunham's family a message.

The messages will be posted in the WNY Pictures of Pride page.

The following is a brief description from the Pentagon of what Cpl. Dunham did to earn the Medal of Honor.

From the Pentagon:

Cpl. Dunham's squad was conducting a reconnaissance mission in Karabilah, Iraq, on April 14, 2004, when a nearby convoy returning to base was ambushed.

Hearing gunfire, Dunham and his squad rushed over to help suppress the attack. He led a team a few blocks south of the immediate ambush site and ordered his squad to block seven vehicles attempting to leave.

As they approached, an Iraqi insurgent jumped out of one of the vehicles and grabbed Dunham by the throat. As Dunham fought the enemy hand-to-hand, two Marines moved in to help.

Dunham noticed that the enemy fighter had a grenade in his hand, and ordered his Marines to move back as he wrestled the insurgent to the ground. The enemy dropped the live grenade and without hesitating Dunham took off his Kevlar helmet, covered the grenade with it, and threw himself on top to smother the blast.

Dunham's actions saved the lives of the other two Marines. Dunham will be the second serviceman and first Marine in the Global War on Terror to receive the Medal of Honor.

In 2004, Schumer wrote to the President asking him to bestow the Nation's highest military honor on the native New Yorker. Senator Schumer released this statement today:

"Corporal Dunham unflinchingly gave what Lincoln deemed 'the last full measure of devotion' and his heroism reflects the true spirit of selflessness, leadership, and courage that the Medal of Honor was established to recognize. Corporal Dunham laid down his life by shielding members of his unit from danger by throwing himself on a live grenade, an act of unbelievable bravery and selflessness that saved the lives of at least two fellow Marines. I was proud to support his nomination and want to personally congratulate his family on behalf of all New Yorkers."

It is still a great loss even if he did die heroically. My heart goes out to his family and those that loved him. What do you think about the New Strategy to send 21000 more soldiers over there.
Although the casualty count isn't quite as high Afganistan is taking the lives of some wonderful Canadian young people too. So Sad. Jan

Sorry you feel this way Jim, but I do understand. There are about 3 threads for people to pray for things down below. I wondered why they didn't put them under the sticky prayer thread also. We all have aches and pains why can't we say we don't feel well, pray for us?Don't leave Jim and I won't.

Yes this is the thread to just chat and share. Just by all the prayer threads hanging out and people not putting them on the prayer thread is one thing that bothers Jim, and then some always telling in detail how sick they are(but I feel that's their choice) Make it any clearer GG??

Again with the evil here! Can you explain yourself in plain Eng(Am. eng) I don't see it, unless of course I'm part of the problem.
I liked your site that you showed. How did you do that? Every time I try to copy and paste something from one of those sites I can't do it it blocks me. Nice poem!

Not sure how I feel about that yet. I believe President Bush is a Christian and is trying to be led by God. So if I look at it like that than I have to say ok. But I also know that he gets a lot of his information from a lot of different peopl(many who aren't Christian) then I have to say the Lord knows what He's doing He already knows the outcome, and His will be done. I know this isn't the forum to discuss this and not trying to start a big debate, just my thoughts I was asked

I believe that our President is a praying God fearing President . I too believe that the Lord knows the outcome and I believe there may be a reason for this that is hard for so many to understand . we should just lift our President up in prayer and our men and women in service to our country.
put out trust in God and stop and not in the media
time is short and sooner than we think we will be with the Lord God bless

The last few posts show how busy this thread can be, and with something for everyone. This is how it should be. This way we are not guessing as to what can be in those nebulous threads below, which eventually divulge into general chit chat,,,,,,,,,and is missed by most.

I check the sticky prayer thread and that is my prayer list,,,that is why it is there!

Oh, by the way, we can't turn on the light cos then we get the tears that we are picking on someone, and we are evil and unchristian.

Life is all twists and turns, and along the way we all and bruise our bodies. Mum always applied a plaster, kissed it to make it better, and for us not to make another whimper about it..........that's life.

Cheers, and God bless,

Jim
