For the first time since the lockdown in March I went into the town (which is less than a mile away from house. It was stranger but nice. As a treat I bought myself a bacon buttie ( a favourite in Orkney).

I thought i might share a little prayer I've just read
count your blessings instead of your crosses
count your gains instead of your losses
count your Joys instead of your Woes
Count your friends instead of your goes
Count your courage instead of your fears
count your health instead of your wealth
and count on God instead of yourself
:)

I went to the opticians this week - the first appointment since COVID. They seemed to be coping well. You had to be let in, hand sanitized and everyone was wearing masks and the staff wore visors as well. It was interesting trying to choose glasses wearing a face mask though! I decided it wasn't the right time to go for a very different new style!

I can't imagine the fun trying on glasses with a face mask :)

It was, which was why I opted for a pair like my previous ones. I was a bit more experimental with sunglasses though and have chosen some large dark red frames!

I have every sympathy with your son, I am one of the group. I go for walks. But I worry about when the lock-down eases more, especially seeing as Orkney rely a lot on the tourist trade. We have just started online shopping ourselves, I find it just exhausting at times as going into Tesco's itself.

I, too have been watching those early programmes, mostly the children's progs but what the heck, it's only my wife who seen me return to being a child^_^.

Just coming back to this now. Well, a lot has happened in the meantime and we're back to restrictions here in Northern Ireland, but not a full lockdown thankfully and us oldies and those with underlying health problems are not being confined to base. My son is able to shop with confidence now, but hasn't been going to his placement where he was attending two days a week - they have to bring a packed lunch as they can't heat food up where they are and J doesn't do cold food apart from sausage rolls. He does work experience once a week but only for an hour and a half owing to restrictions.

God bless.

Gillian

hi rebornfree,
getting through the winter, and looking forward to Spring :)
and the end of lockdown  whenever that is.
We have had a beautiful sunny morning, and now a little rain is trying, but holding off.
How are you coping? Trying times.

I'm doing okay, thank you mp.:) I know lockdown is hard, but I hope they don't end it too soon, as we don't want the numbers to rise again. I think spring will bring better news - at least being able to be out in our own gardens, and hopefully some effects of the vaccine will be seen by then. :)

Is Peter fully recovered now?

What about a game using the last word of a sentence you have constructed to start a new sentence with that word that a new person has constructed.?
I don't know where to put this?
