My wife's blood pressure was much better on her last visit to the doctor. There hasn't been any medication change, so we think it is our exercise three times a week. Yeah! At least we KNOW it can't hurt and the doctor is very happy that we're exercising.

There appears to be a gang of squirrels that have decided to terrorize the dogs in our neighborhood. It was hilarious. They ran Hank and Lucy until their little tongues were hanging out twice today. They appeared to be openly mocking our little dogs and just staying barely out of their reach. It wasn't a fair fight - the squirrels cheated. :D

Our local squirrels have not been seen in many months

Very likely is that they have been caught by local [feral] cats
that have been seen chasing them after laying in wait for them

 oh well, such is 'nature'

We had a busy day here...went together early up into our local mountains. Hubby had some measurements to take at a job site...we drove around and home what ended up being the long way...LOL...we both got tired...o dear, this senior thing is upon us for sure.

Gracie went and she was just a spoiled little Pom...my fault of course. :)

Tomorrow is church...I am looking forward to it.

Some of us are having the tornado watches and destruction happening again...my goodness.
Nice to see you Shirley
I hope you have a relaxing and blessed Sunday
Praying for the protection of all in stormy weather this summer :crossrc:

Such good news about your health (both of you)
^_^ at your squirrels

Our squirrels stay at the edge of the woods when the dog is out; it is the chipmunks that are bold and taunt Penny.... running almost within paws reach of her at times ;)

Awwww, that's sad!
Send those cats over here; our coyotes and foxes will take care of THEM :p

Hubby just put the last coat of paint in the PC room; I took Penny out for a walk before we get showers this afternoon.
Tomorrow he has his checkup, and I am getting a pneumonia vaccine booster; we will go shopping for a carpet after our appts.

Have a blessed SONday everyone

Brother,

We can choose to ignore and avoid those who are trying to annoy or anger us. In effect, that leaves them talking to themselves and looking pretty silly.

Indeed, Pilate and others did not understand at all when Jesus was simply silent before their accusations against him.

Stopping by to say "hi"
It is cold and rainy here, great for doing things inside.
My little dog, Laddie is growing cuter all the time, he really is a handful though, so hyper.
Blessings and hugs to everyone.

Hello everyone,

We had our final Walk for Life meeting last night. It rained but thankfully that did not annoy anyone. I think people just enjoyed being out for the evening. Once again our speaker spoke very well and very clearly of people's need to be saved. She has quite a story - worked in an orphanage in Romania from where she adopted a little boy; with great difficulty brought him home to Northern Ireland; married her boyfriend from Romania who had followed her here from there; had 3 children of her own and was ill with cancer twice.

It's very stormy here today and I have just been doing things around the house, but hope to spend some time this afternoon and evening working on our camper van.

Blessings,

Gillian

I'm having fun tonight watching Harold Lloyd Comedies on Turner Classic Movies. Hilarious is the word - even though they are all silent films.

My wife and I just came from our workout. We've formed a habit of going on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday each week, and I highly recommend it for anyone - especially in our age group. You can feel the benefits pretty quickly, and it's news that the doctor loves to hear. I'm getting the bulk of my cardio-type exercise from a recumbent exercise bicycle, and my wife uses a tread mill. We both use a large variety of machines for upper body strength. The machines won't let you do the exercise wrong, so injuries are just about eliminated (unless you fall off the machine). :D

Hi Tom
It's nice you can work out together; hubby and I do the same!
We walk daily and add a weight routine for strengthening :thumbsup:Have wonderful weekend ~ God bless

Yes, we enjoy our workouts together and encourage each other to continue. We've thought about trying to go every day, but we thought that might be too much for us. Our routines take about 2 hours on each visit, and usually about 35 minutes of that is for cardiovascular benefits. There are people in their 80s doing the same thing we are. You have a great weekend also.

This sounds good...hmmm....I don't do anything for body strength...do your joints hurt...mine always hurt...it is "normal" for me.

Oh my  doing the gym daily for 2 hours would kill me :p
What you're doing is working an feels good for you, so don't push it
We walk 30 min (daily) at a brisk pace along the lake shore, so it is a good workout with hills in spots.
M-W-F, I do light weights and some calisthenics for major muscle/bone strength (just 15-20 min).
That's all I can manage; any more, or too strenuous does me in and I end up feeling sick (just 'me' and my health history) :D
Blessings to you and the Mrs

Yes, I have a bad back and quite a bit of arthritis. The exercise is helping - at least for me. I think that strengthening the muscles takes pressure off of the joints. My doctor told me that losing weight also takes pressure off of the joints, and I think he was right. I still need to lose more weight, but I'm getting there a little bit at a time. We haven't been doing this on the principle of "no pain, no gain". Instead, if it hurts, we'll slow down or adjust things. The overall result is that we're feeling better a little bit at a time. I'm convinced that many people stop their exercise program because they try to do too much - and it hurts. A good example would be using lower weights and doing more repetitions. I also like it that the machines won't let you do the exercise wrong and hurt yourself. So, I think that the best advice is to start slowly and build up slowly. Planet Fitness has two mottos that they practice: 1 - no judgment, 2 - no criticism. This I think establishes an environment where all people, regardless of fitness level, feel welcome to workout at their own pace.
